Excessive consumption of fizzy or even fruit juice can be a big problem for weight and health. The sheer volume of sugar and percentages of daily intakes and calories to drinking these will cause weight gain and hinder weight loss. Replacing them with squash if not water will make a surprising difference.
Easily a 100 calories per just a can and often over 15% of your sugar, for something that doesn't actually quench thirst effectively. Diet and Zero versions of fizzy drinks are not good alternatives, simply lesser of two evils in certain factors but still full of damaging stuff.
Even a mildly healthy diet is greatly improved by drink changes and you will even feel better for it. As for your comment of hardly eating any this too could be a problem, not getting enough of what you actually need can cause problems too.

Do me a favor next time you are in the store. Pick up a can or bottle of coke, read the label and you will not find sugar in a can of coke.
You will find a synthetic chemical called high fructose corn syrup which is used instead of sugar for cost reasons. (Another story).
But it is the use of high fructose corn syrup that is the cause of diabetes and weight gain as pure cane sugar which is only used in "Pepsi brand throwback" and better sodas that you commonly can buy at say Whole (Paycheck) Foods or Traider Joes.
You still should drink cane sugar soda in moderation also.
I was the same way with Mountain Dew when I was your age and I was a fat kid.
Obesity remains a medical mystery, according to my older sister (MD thinks she knows everything) (hate her sometimes).
She says it is directly related to consumption, but indirectly related to our genetic makeup, metabolism, etc.
Girls have an extra layer of fat she says but I'm not sure why.
She also says that scrupulous adherence to any diet is built to fail. However, carb related diets are the most successful.
Society has demonized us for being overweight, and again the guys get all the breaks.
I'm barely 100 lbs. but I exercise (karate) and try to watch what I eat.
When I was modeling (age 5-17) I was weighed every week before a shoot. It was awful.
Try to watch your weight for health reasons, just don't obsess over it. Be who you are.
Yes, it can be a factor. One of my friends who was pretty good looking got this belly fat and also stomach problems due to drinking tons of coke. And no, diet coke isn't good either. Stick to tea, water and maybe more natural juice if you really need something else besides water.

Yes, coke and any sugary fizzy drinks are not good for you.
Sugar in general isn't great for anyone. In small doses it's alright, but the sugar content in coke is stupidly high. Drinking coke regularly will most definitely not help you with maintaining a healthy weight.
If you substitute coke with water, you will quench your thirst faster and feel better in general. A sweet taste will make you want to drink more, therefore putting you in a vicious cycle. Great for sales of coke, not so much for your health.Yes, it could be contributing to it. Coke also has no nutritional value in the calories that it provides, so even if you eat less on it (I certainly ate less when I drank 5-6 cokes per day) it can still make things difficult.
It can be hard to quit, but it can rewarding, too. If you want to stop, just go down little by little and start drinking more water, even if you don't feel like it.Coke and sodas are as bad as Alcohol in the long run. You run the risk of tooth diseases, Diabetes, High blood pressure. Obesity and many more illnesses. since you said you are over weight you should completely avoid them !! The lactose is one of the reason for your problems
Drinking lots of coke is like drinking lots of cup of sugar. It's not good for your blood, and certainly not good for your heart. And yes it will make you fatter.
Soda is nothing but sugar. And it rots your teeth and insides. Stop drinking it and see how much weight u lose
Of course, all the sugar that's contained in it can make ur appetite go haywire, so definitely its not advisable to drink too much of coke!
It can make you fat, ugly and sick. Stop with coke, really. You are young, you should eat vegetables, fruits, nuts and lean meat.
Stop drinking the coke! Absolutely is unhealthy, and addictive. Can also fuel your cravings. Try to not drink calories and eat fresh foods that are unprocessed.
Is this even a question? Like are you that stupid? Seriously?
yeah soda is one of the biggest factors to be honest. People who just cut sweet drinks out of their diet generally lose a bit of weight
