if you go to the gym consistently (3-4+ times/week), I can see results in a week or two. I'm hella sore those first couple weeks, but after that not so much. Not sure what kind of gains you're talking about, but I can usually add about 5-15 lbs/week depending on the exercise or add reps. I usually plateau in about 2-3 months. I'm no hardcore weight lifter though, I just do it to keep up health and look "good"
Another thing is, seeing as how you're under 18, I'm gonna wager that this is your first time lifting. While I don't know about about scientific background, my friends and I have noticed that our first time lifting had the most gains. I think I gained like 30lbs in like 3 months when I firsted started working out, again I wasn't doing it right and just ate, so I'm sure it wasn't 30lbs of muscle. The things I quoted up above are for me now when I go in for my cycle of going to the gym consistently and then getting lazy; my little 6 month on, 6 month off cycle.
