Should muscles still be sore after a week at the gym?

I joined the gym and I hadn't been in a few months. I would say I'm healthy, only like 8stone but I'm 5ft tall (or small should I say).

I went to the gym last week and not been since because my stomach muscles are absolutely killing me! I did cardio, weights and stretching. Is this normal? Or should have it checked as I'm also feeling extremely bloated the past week too.
