There was a time when i used to have panic attacks (still do, but i have more control over them) behind the wheel and it was horrible. For me, music helped me a lot, every time i get inside my car I turn my radio really loud, it drowns my thoughts away.

Omg I'm the same. I'm a wreck. My brother takes me driving in quiet places to practice. He said once I get comfortable I'll be fine.
Just relax. Go on a really long drive, like 3 hours to shake off your nerves. Do it at least once a month.
Driving on the open road is actually a relaxing experience compared to driving around the city.
Try meditating before you drive to lower your BP and relax. Then when you are driving think about your driving and what is going on rather than all of the bad stuff that COULD happen.
