It could be an irregular period, they're pretty common when you're a teenager. Plus, it depends on when both periods started. I get my period every 28 days, without fail (I'm lucky, I know). But due to the way it worked out, I just got my second period of the month today. I just happened to get one at the beginning of the month and then again at the end of the month. At least next month I know I won't get one until nearly the end of the month, so it's not all bad! ;)
But yes, it's not really any cause for concern. If they really begin to get wonky (heavier flow than normal, no periods for months, etc.) then it's time to see the doctor.
Well she's still fairly young so just because she's not usually irregular doesn't mean it can't still happen. I don't think this is anything to be concerned about. As long as she's staying healthy otherwise then it's fine. Periods are prone to a lot of environmental factors as well such as stress so, I don't think it's a big deal.
Your cycle is often influenced by who you associate with. If you associate with somebody who is on their period or has a different cycle then you, your cycle will change. I used to get my period of the 15th of the month but after spending 2 days with my cousin, I now get my period on the 10th of the month.
If she's only had it three years of course its normal! I've had mine for 5 and still have some irregularities. Within the first 3 years you can easily experience two in one month or skipped periods, even if you never have previously. If it continues, or it really bothers you, then check it out, but I really wouldn't worry about it, its probably just her cycle working itself out. Hope this helps :)
ohhh i am 16 too and i am a virgin also i have had some similar problems where my period stops for a while then comes back and so on so i asked my school's doctor and she said that this is really normal since i am still young and she said that the period is going to become normal and have a pattern once i am 18 and there is no need to worry it is just the change in hormones and so on, hope this helped. :)
I got my period when I was 13, and without birth control I'm super irregular. It's normal within the first few years of getting your period to have irregularity, even if it isn't consistent.
There's a lot of factors that could come into play. But she's sixteen and still going through a lot of hormonal changes, her cycle is definitely subject to change.
She might just want to start taking birth control it could be the beginning or poly-cystic ovarian syndrome or just a plain old irregular period. Either way Birth control pills will keep things regular and treat PCOS if she has it. It's completely normal to have to take birth control for reasons other than being sexually active so it's no big deal. Just get her to go to the doctor and get a prescription.
Its probably just hormones got out of wack. she's not on birth control is she?
No and she's the heathist eater too!
It's flactuation of hormones.. it's not really alarming.. If it is persistent or consistent, then she needs to visit her physician or gynecologist..
I don't think this is the best place to get answers. Most people here know just about as much about this as you do. I think you should ask like a doctor or perhaps go to some women's health website or something. They will know better.
Nothing to worry about going through puberty can cause turbulence, in the ovaries. Perfectly normal, to be a little irregular at this time.
Younger girls are always prone to being irregular and periods are pretty unpredictable anyway.
