Stand up and walk for a fresh air but remain relaxed, I have not had a panic attack in years, just keep walking in the direction of a near by hospital if its really intense and because its a safe house you feel better the closer you get and I don't remember walking inside the hospital I was better far before I got there, its a mind thing. Deep breathing from the belly while listening to calm sounds like birds chirping or a running creek. Your body cannot panic as easily when your oxygen intake is under control.

Just the usual techniques to try and get through the panic attack. Xanax is the only medicine that helps me and I do take that when they're REALLY bad. Seeing a psychologist really, really helps. I've found that being able to vent and talk about things on a regular basis makes the panic attacks less frequent and less severe.

There is some thought that breathing into and out of a paper bag for a few seconds helps. Something to do with increasing the carbon dioxide in the blood.
