Drinking is NOT good for you in any amount.
That said, I drink socially.. But I also read.

I don't think so. They say a glass of red wine a day, but it's not the alcohol, it's the compounds in the wine. From memory, it has to be old world wine due to a specific type of mold that grows on the vines and grapes.

I wouldn't believe it. It's just an excuse people use as to why they drink (even if a little bit) alcohol every day.

I wouldn't be surprised if this 'fact' was founded by the alcoholic beverage industry. But 1 shot a day will certainly do not cause any permanent damage. The liver can take more than that.

I don't think there is definitive proof. Some articles say a glass of red wine daily is good for you. Other articles say it isn't. I guess it all comes down to what you want to believe.

Alcohol is toxic and affects brain, that's why you get that fuzzy feeling. Kills brain cells.
And Christ didn't drank wine, he drank fresh grape juice.

Alcohol is poison. If by good for you you mean slowly building up a resistance to poison then I guess.

Yeah, alcohol thins your blood a little and opens up the capillaries allowing your heart to not have to work so hard.

What about German beer? Germany has a purity law where only a few ingredients that can be used.

depends on the company, but most likely yes. German beer tend to be much higher quality, unlike most of these crappy American beers.

Not even 1 beer? I heard it flushes the kidneys out. I'm not sure on the accuracy of that statement, though. I was pretty sure red wine in a small amount was good. It didn't seem right that liquor was good.

Beer is the worst alcohol for your health. Wine is the only one I know of that one glass of per day helps your health.

Alcohol is never "good" for you lol, i've heard anecdotal things about red wine however. I don't know whats up with that.
