True or False: easier to lose weight than to gain weight?

Question

Let's say you got a thin girl with high metabolism and thick girl with slower metabolism. Is it easier for the thick girl to lose weight or for the thin girl to gain weight?

Well it's weird, it's easier to gain weight but it's faster to lose it. I can cut down on what I eat and lose 5lbs in 3 weeks the. When I go home for 3 weeks (I work on a remote site) I gain 2-4 lbs from pigging out and drinking beer. Sometimes I stay even on my weight. If I substitute meals with shakes at least two meals I can lose 11lbs a month (which I have). I've never tried to gain 11lbs a month but I'm guessing you would get very sick and feel tired and sweaty/bloated from all the crap you'll have to eat. So it's easier to gain weight but quicker to lose it.

Depends on the body type.

Naturally big people will usually have a harder time losing weight than gaining and naturally thin people will usually have a harder time gaining weight.

If I stop working out I will lose weight. That's opposite of what will happen to "bigger" people.

Easier to gain weight. Especially for those who were overweight as a child as you have more body fat cells. More body fat cells means quicker weight gain. A lot of people don't know this and that's why it's very important for children to not be overweight, because it will cause more difficulty when older to maintain a healthy weight.

So it depends on the individual. If you weren't overweight as child be grateful because it's a life long hassle if you were. I know out of experience ;)

It's way easier to gain weight. All you have to do is eat a lot. To lose weight you have to cut calories and exercise.

It just depends on the person. I'm thin and have an incredibly difficult time gaining weight because my metabolism is so fast. But if someone's metabolism is extremely slow or they have a medical condition sometimes they have a really hard time too. it just goes both ways.

Nope. It's damn hard to lose weight. To gain weight all you have to do is eat and eat. To lose weight you need to eat certain foods, a certain number of calories, and you need to exercise. Take it from me. But if you have a very high metabolism, it will make it exceedingly difficult to put on weight. So I guess I will say both. It depends honestly.

Well its harder to gain weight for a person who is naturally skinny (like me) and its hardest to lose weight for a person whos naturally overweight.

for a normal average weight person lossing weigt would be faster give everything is done right since gaining muscle takes a long time

I think it depends because in theory you have more control over losing weight so it should be "easier" (eat better, exercise, drink water, etc). But for some people losing weight is extremely hard! So I think it really depends on the person.

The thin girl would never have problem losing weight cause her metabolism is high and she burns up calories  but the thicker girl would have problems losing weight  cause her metabolism is slower.

i think that all girls have fast and slow metabolisms. it doesn't matter what size oyu are, as long and oyu put effort into it. lets sya if oyu were a skinny girla nd oyu exercised and got muscles nad a nice body, thats just her body not her metabloism. just because girls are skinny doesn't mean they have a fast metabolism. i dont know if its true but everyone has a different paced metabolism. hope my opinion helps.
