+1 yI mean I could argue that drugs and alcohol can be just as damaging as eating food and what response do I get? everyone is on board for those things, excessive smoking of pot and drinking to me seems to get over looked these days and excessive eating is a more socially unaccepted thing. There can be a number of factors people are over weight, some times it is actually a medical condition and not from them eating badly, some times some medications can make you put on weight, I have a friend who has put on weight from all the meds she is on, some people turn to food for comfort in times of depression so giving them a hard time probably isn't doing the reverse and making them want to eat less. I think it's cruel, just like it's cruel to be racist, just like the stoners would think it's horrible and unjust if they couldn't have their weed, or people who like to party all the time who no longer can have their alcohol because you say them drinking should mean they be excluded.

+1 yI wonder what God would say in this situation?
Nobody should be excluded from society. Differences are actually appealing (chubby chasers alert) irregardless of weight, height, colour, race, looks, identity, style of dress or sense of humour. We are not going to like each other all of the time but just some of the time but that doesn't mean we need to exclude certain types of people.
It's only okay to be obese if it's due to medical reasons not because you CBA to look after yourself and your life.32 Reply- +1 y
Sarcasm met with sarcasm and had a blast !
Yes they should. They are lazy and immoral. When you consider that people are starving in the third world and here in the west we have fatties eating a family bucket of chicken everyday taking up hospital beds with their health complaints. My fat neighbour had to get an MRI not at the hospital but at the zoo, one designed for elephants and other large animals. Only by excluding them and making life harder for fatties will they see that it is unacceptable to be obese thus averting the obesity crisis.

+1 yNo they should not be!!. I think instead of people laughing at them and making fun of them they should help them. I think people making fun of them causes them to eat more. You never know what they are going through. Maybe they are alone in life of depressed, you never know. I don't think it's ok to be obese but we should not make fun of the fat people.
If they were to be excluded from society i think that was cause them depression and to eat more. Again i think we should help them and not make fun of them at a pool for example, cause they might be doing laps in a pool to lose weight and when people look and laught it really discourages them.08 Reply- +1 y
i guess that is true. it's all the fast food corporations but you never know what someone obese is going through on gone through in there life. It could also be a health condition too, you never know.
Asker+1 y99% of obese people are fat through laziness and over consumption.
- +1 y
"99%" please don't pull numbers out of your ass
- +1 y
99%? i don't think so @Asker

sorry at the guy who is asking the question*
Asker+1 yCome on now every fattie will tell you they have a condition that makes them overweight.
- +1 y
you never know
+1 yThey sort of are already, but that's 'cause overweight people are viewed as being unattractive, unhealthy, and just flat out gross.
Being fat all my life, I've learned in the past couple years that these sort of "pushed away" stuff is only as effective as you believe for it to be. In other words, don't let it get you down 'cause you can always change.
And no. On a health level, it isn't okay to be obese. Our nature-given structure wasn't meant to handle that amount of train. Socially, it's seasoned more thoroughly than in other places, but it's still there.20 Reply

Yes they should; No it's not ok to be obese.
I've been meaning to write to the Canadian gov't about how fat people should be denied the ability to benefit from universal healthcare because our tax dollars are being wasted on lazy fat fucks who refuse to lose weight. Fat people here should be required to pay for their own surgeries and medications, and only be plugged back into the healthcare grid when they lose weight.11 Reply
Asker+1 yThis was worthy of a mh but unfortunately thrre can only be one. Your a 100% right.
Omg I feel sad when people talk like this about fat people, even though I don't have one single person in my family who is fat or even near fat, I think fat people should be rather given attention if only we want to help them, excluding them is a bad idea, just imagine you are in their shoes, would you like to be discriminated? no human want to be discriminated for any reasons regardless of who we are, we all humans and no one is bigger than anyone
30 ReplyWhat's the difference between that and homophobia? Or racisim? Maybe we should exclude jerks on the internet first.

Big difference is gays and being of a different race doesn't mean a crane has to lift you out of your home, it doesn't mean you take up to seats on the subway. Years ago a fattie fell on top of me on an escalator and broke my leg. If you want to help fatties then stop molly cuddling them and encourage them to eat right and exercise.
- +1 y
Fat people may be disgusting to you, but they're still people and they have rights. You can't exclude that from then just because they eat a lot
Asker+1 yIts the only way to help them lose the weight by discouraging them from over eating.

Let's be honest. The only reason people think this is a good idea is because many people find obese people physically unattractive. If you wanted to expel people from society why aren't you talking about smokers? Drug addicts? Alcoholics? People with STDs? The truth is you had a bad experience when you were younger and you think they are ugly so its OK. But we all have faults. Think of your biggest fault, something society may not approve of. Now do to yourself what you want to do to someone else. This isn't about being healthy, you simply don't see them as actual, feeling people.
Asker+1 yActually thats a good idea you had about smokers, drug addicts, alcoholics and std people being ostracised from normal society but I would add paedophiles, rapists and serial killers. I guess great minds think alike.
+1 yIt's really bad for their health to be obese. They should be helped, not ostracized

Asker+1 yBut my accepting them we are making them think its acceptable to be a fattie. You may as well just pour lard down their throats
- +1 y
@asker
Acceptance is the first step in conquering the problem. If they are shamed they'll be afraid to go to the gym in fear of judgement. - +1 y
We shouldn't encourage it. But it's like with any other addiction, if they can't help themselves then we should help them. It's the human thing to do.
Or I mean we could just kill them and use yhem as a food source instead of farming cattle...
+1 yNo on should be EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY. Jeez dude. While obesity is a problem it doesn't mean obese people should be viewed as lesser or anything like that. That's just plain awful

And you're perfect? To the point where people who are onear should be "excluded from society"? Please elaborate. Because there really is no difference excluding an obese person and excluding a person due to their skin color
Asker+1 yDifference is one was born a certain race but nobody was born 30 stone. Its the result of a lifetime of bad eating habits and no exercise and society shouldn't reward it.
+1 yNo fat people should not be excluded from society. Should a specific race be excluded from society? NO. It's the same cruelty all around.
We need to stop discriminating just because we don't like the outside of a person. Anyone who does so is just embarrassing themselves
It isn't healthy to be obese, however someone else's well-being is none of my business.01 Reply
Asker+1 yCoparing fat people to racism is ignorance, fatties need teal help not a free pass for lard asses to stuff their faces.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWell if that's true then anorexia people to some people can not help how they are

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yIt's not always the girls fault. With the way society is its like they are asking us to be fat. Also some girls have health issues where they can't lose weight but they can gain weight. Also making life harder for them by excluding them wouldn't help at all. Many girls would commit suicide over that.
