Definitely did. Lost the little definition you had and just became a lot softer and rounder.
Check the diet. Check what ingredients your mother uses to make your meals (e. g a lot of butter and whatnot) but my guess is that it comes from snacking as when you're a student you don't have the luxury of having a wonderfully full fridge. Cut out large carbs like pasta, bread, etc because they aren't necessary, kick up a little cardio (go running for 30-45min twice a week minimum), get some definition by working out (this will take time too as the first gains you get when you begin lifting for the first time is mainly your muscles learning how to work together to push/pull/lift the weight rather than actual muscle growth) and a great tip to speed up results is to work your meals so that your last big meal is at around 6pm and no carbs after that so that your body hits and stays in ketogenisis for a longer period of time when you sleep.
(ketogenisis is when your body runs out of carbohydrates (long chains of glucose) and starts using your stored fat as it's energy source (there's an entire diet based around it but it is tough to say the least and it isn't needed for you but it typically produces the best results) instead of glucose (sugar). It can only do this once your body runs out of glucose because your body automatically chooses to use glucose as it's main energy source over your fat due to it being so much easier to break down and as it doesn't use fat often so you probably have less enzymes which deal with using fat as energy rather than glucose).
Yea you gained weight but it looks like fat. Gain weight in muscle mass cause you lacking a lot. Start working out so you can gain healthy weight.
You got a little chub, yeah, but literally you could shed that no problem. I wouldn't even call you fat.
