Gaining weight isn't necessarily bad--just depends whether it's fat or if it's muscle. Gaining muscle isn't a problem.
Just start tracking your body fat percentage. If your body fat percentage is at a level you like, your actual weight doesn't matter much, as long as you're getting stronger.
But yes, nutrition is quite important. 20% exercise, 80% nutrition is the saying.

depends on how much you work out. the basic principle of loosing weight is to burn more calories than you consume.
However regardless of weight, your general fitness will increase.You'll see an improvement in strenght but you probably won't lose weight if you want to.
if you dont watch your diet, nothing will change.
