Are you planning on donating any organs or your whole body after you've passed? Why/why not?
Will you donate your body/organs after death?
Are you planning on donating any organs or your whole body after you've passed? Why/why not?
The only thing I chose not to donate was my eyes. Eyes are kind of a window to the soul and I can't imagine my corneas in someone else's head. All of my other organs will hopefully be put to good use. Every few years, I cut off 12 inches of hair to donate to Locks of Love for people with alopecia. And I donate blood wherever my iron is high enough. Also, Be The Match is a great registry to sign up for, in case you are able to donate bone marrow to someone who needs it.
Wow. I hope you're proud of yourself because that's so great 😊the world needs more people like you!
Aawww thanks! The world needs more people like you, too!
Absolutely. There are way too many people, adults and children, dying unnecessary deaths because they can't get an organ transplant. The donor pool is so small, anything I could do to help, would be worth it. I'm also a regular blood donor, and registered as a bone marrow donor.
Naaaah.. what if someone knows that Im a donator and kills me because he knows of my blood type and I have the organs he needs. Or what if a doctor gets inpatient with me when Im in coma and says "Alright he's dead. Lets start with taking out his organs, its been a year already." If Im not a donor I dont have to worry about this because, they get nothing out of killing me.
I am not using it anymore; it may as well help someone else out. It would be pretty cool to do to a collage anatomy class or something like that so new medical personal can learn their craft.
Yeah that's what I've written in my will, if that my organs have deteriorated and are unusable then I'd like my entire body to be donated to be used at an anatomy university and be a cadaver.
Yeah, I guess they don’t really take the healthy ones for that. The two cadavers I have dissected were much older people. The one of them had some wonky scoliosis so bad that her spine had actually grown into and destroyed one of her lungs. I guess a healthy body would be too valuable to do that with.
Wow, that must have been really interesting to see as well as sad. I'm applying for med school this year so if I get in, I have a dissection in my first week, excited is not the correct word but I am really curious and looking forward to the experience.
It's different in the UK, I'm currently a midwife.

Yes! 1000x yes. There is not enough awareness about organ donation to be honest. and most major religions are for it. There are people whose lives will be SAVED by those organs, and many die waiting (including my mother). I look at it as your last good deed on this earth to donate your organs to sick patients or science.
I intend to donate all of my organs- except my eyes because they're not good enough- when I die. My general health is good and there are people that could really benefit.
Also, if it was me or somebody I loved waiting on the donor register, I'd be desperate for a donor, so therefore I think it's my responsibility to donate mine...
yes i do plan on becoming an organ donor it gives me peace of mind that someones family member or loved one will be able to be with their family longer because thats what i would want
Im opting for cryogenics. Wake me in 50 years. Or revive me when replacement limbs are avail. I plan on going out with a bang
Yeah I'm donating my entire body skin and all. Why not help someone out? I'm either helping someone out or helping the worms have a feast. The thought of my body in various pieces in or on others bodies doesn't phase me at all.
I'm an organ donor. Why not? It's just meat after I'm done with it...
Ehh I don't really care, but I know that I would like to be cremated.
Everything that I can.
If anything one can think of it as a part of ones self living on.
No I will not and I opt out of any register I am automatically placed on. People need to learn to accept death at any age and stop trying to control and engineer nature.
No I am not a donor. There have been cases where people on deaths door were purposefully not treated properly so they'd die and the doctors could use their organs. If I'm not a donor I don't have to worry.
Interesting theory
As much as I like to help others and wish the best for others, probably not. I hope that doesn't make me seem like a bad person :/ ugh
I sure would. At least those which are healthy. It could always save someones life.
Every single live is precious. At least to me.
ohhhhh, so that means i can have your eyes after you die? ;) ;) ;)
Hey you're older you may go first 😉
Well it is certainly more useful to do so than to be buried underground or be burned.
Have you guys seen the "BODIES" exhibit? At the end they have this sign that says something to the effect, "Please consider donating your body to science"
Creepiest thing ever.
I plan to, but i doubt they'd want it when im done with it lol
They can take all my organs and what not but not my eyes, I don't know why just not my eyes
Year after year we are starting to fabricate organs, that's amazing.
Maybe we can make any organ 20 years from now, that would b eamazing.
They grew a human heart and lungs from stem cells which is amazing! I can't wait to see where that will lead us for future innovations.
Well I'll keep the rest of my body but what the hell do I need vital organs for in a coffin?
I am an organ donor so if they want them they can have them. I am also O- blood type so they will likely take almost everything
O type too! They'll be nothing left of us haha
