Well depends how skinny you are. As a girl I find the buff guys at the gym ridiculous. It's just ugly! I like visible muscles but not too much. As for you, don't be scared because girls like skinny guys also (;

Go to the gym with a couple of really close friends who have experience with working out and you'll feel somewhat more comfortable and they can help you work out and keep you motivated.

Yeah, but my friends generally fall into one category: 1. Those who do not work out; 2. Juniors and Seniors who are extremely busy; 3. Varsity guys who have fixed schedules which means they could not accompany me.
Make new friends maybe? I had to go to Spain (I suck at Spanish) for tennis camp and after the first week of having to listen to drills on Google Translator, I kinda got used to it, and I made some friends. If you have some money to spare, you could also get a trainer and after the people get used to your presence and body and you get used to theirs, you'll be fine.

You gotta start some where man I mean just start with small steps you will do fine : )
But I am afraid that someone will laugh at me (secretly though, not openly/publicly) when they see my body.
Will I meet such situations?
the first step is the hardest no one should laugh at you if they do then they are just jack asses, just ignore them if you can

Who cares about what others think. The only way you can see results is if you start your fitness journey now. :)
We all started of as gym noobs
What means "noobs"?
beginner
So you mean you are very sure that I will not be laughed?
I see old and fat people in the gym once you see those types you won't feel embarrassed
But I am going to go to my college gym. Will that be different?
There would be fat people also
Yeah, but will they be more fit on average or be more judgmental/nasty?
People should be mature at college level
