How to deal with my Parkinson's now that I know I have it? (Anybody with experience is welcome to answer)?

I didn't know I had Parkinson's until about 2 weeks ago when I saw my doctor. Although I've been showing symptoms for a while.
My doctor wasn't very helpful telling me about how to cope; he just gave me a pamphlet and told me to schedule more exams.
The main difficulty I'm having is the shaking which I thought would just get better at some point, but according to the doctor there is no cure for it. I'm having trouble doing a lot of my daily needs like putting contacts in or shaving now because my hands shake so bad.

Does anyone have any advice for someone who shakes? I don't know what to do to support myself for projects that required my hands to be still. I don't have any family or friends who can help either.
