    Youtube videos, be weird like me and fill milk jugs with sand to use when weights get boring, strap on weights, etc. Bodyweight excercises are great but they can be boring (to me anyways) pull up bars that you can hang from are fun too if you feel like trying something different.

      Like leg cramps or stomach cramps? For legs I stretch my calfs, thighs, quads and glutes. I'd also get stomach cramps from eating/drinking too much/too heavy too close to running, like eat something small and light at least 15 minutes before you run (slice of toast or fruit),,, avoid milk, nuts and meats, they are heavier in the stomach.

      Long distance as in 10km? 7mile?
      Stretch. Hold for about 20 seconds and then change. You won't see an instant result but I'd be surprised if you didn't feel a difference after a week, provided you stretch properly at least once a day.

      Oh another thing, with the training (running, swimming and bodyweight training) the advice given to me was to increase by 10% per week. For example if you do 10 pushups, do that for a week then the next week do 11.

      You can put too much stress on ligaments and muscles if you overdo it. I was doing about 40 pushups in a set, two sets a day and my body was fine with that but I decided to do a set of pushups every time I died while playing Dark Souls 2 which meant I was doing around 200 pushups in like 90-120 minutes and essentially I got tennis elbow after about 5 days of this which is not nice at all and pushed me back about 3 weeks.

      yeah I know what you mean! I use to jog like so much and to extreme numbers and I went numb and I had to take a break because my legs would cramp up and it hurt~ I learn my lesson increase slowly!

      Since this was a good answer, I'm going to comment rather then add a different.

      One key difference between bodyweight training and barbell training is that with barbell training, you gradually increase the weight over time. With bodyweight, you can't do that. You can increase the reps, but if you get carried away with that, you're changing from doing strength work, to hypertrophy work, to endurance work. If you want to build muscle, you need to increase the difficulty of the exercise when you can do the high end of the desired rep range.

      The way to do that is to change which exercise variant you're using.

      For chest & triceps for example, there's a whole -family- of pushup variants of increasing difficulty. See

      For a list from easiest to hardest. Note that it starts much easier than full pushups, and goes slightly beyond one handed pushups.

      So you put together a bodyweight circuit, and replace exercises with harder ones over time.

    I only work with those because I don't wanna become "buff" lol and they are probably best if you just wanna tone up anyways

      I do mainly push ups, jumping jacks, Russian twists & leg raises but there's body weight exercises for pretty much every body part you wanna train. 👍
      Buff = muscular ~ I don't like that on myself 😛

    Use your own bodyweight. Calisthenics and power yoga will work well.

      That could be an issue... however, it is funny that most people will pay some pretty hefty premiums each month to go to the gym, however, would never consider volunteering to help plant some trees in a conservation area or maybe do some labor on a farm, or park?

      There are tonnes of ways to get some good ole fashioned labor/workouts free by volunteering. You get the added benefit of the fresh air! You get a cardio workout and toning for free! Beats paying a gym for the use of their equipment!

    Do body weight exercises! You can build plenty of muscle with them! Or, buy some dumbells.

      No clue lol I stole my brothers and those he got as a present. He doesn't use them. I have ankle weights that weren't that expensive and lighter weights that were a present
