Trending & News I can def say I feel your pain. I had fallen off a chair and herniated a couple discs in my back and then a few weeks after I was sick and when I coughed I felt something in my back and my leg felt funny but thought nothing of it and went to bed. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't get out of bed, what I had felt was the disc sliding and it was putting pressure on my spine and my sciatic nerve which made my leg go numb just before I got to the hospital. I couldn't walk or even stand up straight and to get ready I had to crawl around and the pain was just awful. You need a anti inflammatory like naproxen, I took a lot of hot baths or would lay on an ice pack and also lay on your left side. I couldn't walk so I was on bed rest a month and then off work another month for physical therapy so maybe even physical therapy can help. Another thing I've found greatly helpful was I had just searched yoga posses for sciatic pain, there's days I'm hurting and I'll do the yoga and after I feel pretty good.
My mom has had a lot of back issues in the past because of her "sciatic nerve". I don't really know much about it, but she's been seeing a chiropractor for a few years now and her back has felt so much better. She's all over the place recommending this doctor, she's done more than other medical doctor has, so now I'm even recommending a chiropractor. It can be a bit pricey, but so worth it. Good luck with your back and feel better soon :).
I'm fighting sciatica right now.
My Dr gave me a "pulse pack" of anti inflammatory meds & pain killers. He also recommended I go see a physical therapist.
Advil helps. Go to your Dr. NOT urgent care. They'll just refer you back to your Dr.
I'm fine moving but just can't get comfortable sitting or sleep through the night.
