How does a sugar addict give up sugar?
Any tips?
Meat and salt are heavily 'yang' (as is a lot of activity in general), do you eat a lot of them? If you do a lot of yang activity, you'll become very contracted. Sugary stuff will essentially help release the contraction. Hence why I know at least one author suggest that it's nigh on impossible to eat a lot of meat and not also eat a lot of sugar (or do some other (yin) activity to make your body balance out the 'over -yangness'). It's why a vegetarian (generally rather yin) won't crave a lot of beer (excess yin) compared to a meat eater (excess yang). Obviously depending on a lot of factors including how much meat one consumes.
About the fruit thing. You're right, it's very sugary yes. But if your body is craving something, then of course, there's the psychological reasons behind it. But also, as I've eluded to, your body is also trying to maintain a kind of dynamic homeostasis. So I wouldn't get too caught up about eating some 'bad' stuff, providing it's excessive. Your body knows better than your mind, it's important to remind oneself.
There's a difference between processed sugar and natural sugar.
1. Consume NOTHING WHATSOEVER with high fructose corn syrup.
2. Avoid sodas aka "Devil's Water".
3. Take B Complex. This helps metabolism.
4. For awhile, elevate your caffeine levels with tea or coffee. This helps with the energy.
5. Drink more water. This helps with EVERYTHING.
6. Eat fruit for the natural sugars. Keep in mind, when you consume a calorie, make sure it pays for itself with nutrition.
Firstly there is no other way around it you have to power through the withdrawal symptoms and eat something like fruit ( these are actually good sugars ) you can also drink milk ( also contains sugar ) just give up one thing at a time and replace it with somthing else nuts maybe. You can replace sugar with honey to start it's sweeter and you don't need much of it. Eat dark chocolate instead you'll get used to the taste. Turn it into a competition see who can stay off sugar and things containing sugar for the longest ( there can be some sort of prize for this ) . don't force yourself into anything and try cutting out sugary drinks first that includes fruitjuice.
I stopped cold turkey. It was pretty easy for me. But something that helps is to sit down and calculate how much sugar you ingest on a daily basis. Like keep all the wrappers of candy and cakes and sweets you eat and write down the measurement of sugar you eat in a day. That should turn you off.
Or eat foods that have natural sugars that are still sweet. Melons and apples are a good start. Replace the refined sugar with natural ones and then slowly ween yourself from there.
Carbs aren't bad if you eat them in the morning and you're exercising, especially doing cardio. And one or two apples a day won't destroy your diet. But melons are low in carbs. I eat half a honeydew or cantaloupe a day.

the less u eat it, the less u crave it.
Just try to make smarter choices, try to satisfy your craving with something different, if u want chocolate, replace it with dark chocolate (at least 70%) , instead of having cookies, have an apple, its all about finding other sources to satisfy that craving.
having a fruit its better than having something that comes on a package and fruits are actually good for u, however, i dont think its good to have them in large amounts either, any excess is bad
Something that helps me a lot is my breakfast, the way u start the day is so important. I keep my breakfasts high in protein and fat and low in carbs, that keeps me satisfied and gives me a lot of energy for the day, so u could try something like that maybe?
Im a chocolate addict and honestly ever since I started working out and noticed results I stopped having the "urge" to eat chocolate. When you have a period or something thats the only time you should have it, to treat yourself. But if you want to stop, eat a lychee with water or tea if you prefer. lychee is a very SWEET fruit, very delicious and natural. But dont eat too much.

There's no fruit that's too high in sugar for you to eat. You just have to find the right balance. Excess is never good, but you don't have to give up sugar either, unless you have a condition that requires you to. And yes, this counts if you're trying to lose weight too.
I had a soft drink problem so I just grabbed a small bottle to try and measure how much I can allow myself a day.
I just put away the rest and told myself that the one tiny bottle is all my allowance for the day.
I would just sip some throughout the day until eventually I became content with not drinking it all.
Very carefully. LOL jk... You need to learn the differences between the various types of sugar and what they do for your body. You need a certain amount of sugar in your diet to keep yourself healthy. Look for good productive sugars and use those instead of less useful sugars.
By switching to honey, it's the methadone of the sugar world.
As for natural occurring sugars, I'm not sure if there's anything you can do for them.
As for the sugary snacks and drinks, to go cold turkey wouldn't be the best solution for me. Maybe to take a note of your intake and then look to reduce it either by 25/50% depending on the level of addiction.
When you crave it eat fruit but not too much. Eat berries they have relatively low sugar and strawberries are in season now. You can have too much of a good thing. Then slowly back off. Have a cheat meal once a week for your cravings.
Look at your abs in mirror and say I want these forever
it's practically impossible to give up sugar. You eventually become dependent on it as an energy source. Usually people who don't eat sugar haven't ever had it. Honestly i would just give up artificial sugar and be done with it, so much easier.
Simply cut back a little at a time. It's how I weaned myself off sugar.
I wish I could stop. I love sugary foods and drinks. I gotta force myself not to have them.
Do it slowly.
