I want to run a marathon in May 2017 but have little running experience, where do I start?
Spill out your advice!!! Thanks.
YouTube strength camp. He has diets and everything fitness you need to accomplish your goals. He helped me perfect my diet and routine. But first thing you need to do is understand how your body works. You can do this by watching lean bulking by vintage ginetecs. Basically start by focusing on your breathing. Control it when you are working out. In your nose out your mouth. Controlled. If you get tired and need a break don't sit down or hunch over it is very bad. Next start off by walking. If you give it all you got the first go you will be discouraged and your body will adapt to that quickly and you see little progress. So for the first few weeks like 2 or 3 walk a mile every day. And while you walk focus on every muscle. Focus on triggering your quads hamstrings and glutes. Focus on your stabilizers (hips and core) also known as imbalances. I have very weak core and hips and struggling to keep them strong and using them throughout daily activities. Then start your running, Core and lower back exercises. A great routine (which I did for a cutting cycle) is the walking for 2 weeks then running 2 miles for 2 weeks. After that I ran 3 miles a day and every other day I did sit ups crunches push ups pull ups. The best core exercise every is the pull up. Then do 10 sprints of 25 yards and jog back with a 10-20 second break between each one. You can add what you would like but that's the basics of what I would do. Then every other day do legs at the gym. Dead lifts, squats and calves. Use machines as well because they keep tension on your muscles at all times and that's what builds muscle free weights don't do that (squats and deadlift). Your dieting, proper form, firing all your muscles you're supposed to use and making sure you don't have imbalances is the most important things. YouTube lean bulking by vintage ginetecs and watch strength camp videos. Yes they are body building channels but they will show you how to eat how to fix imbalances and how to do what you want to do. I followed their instructions and did an iron man with my boss now I'm competing in a body building competition. It all starts with walking.
P. s. Also a wrestlers trick is to eat celery before you go to sleep. It burns more calories than it holds
Lol you have plenty of time to train, I don't have much running experience either but start out slowly by jogging, speed walking, etc.. also leg workouts and walking up hills help😊
Buy a good book or look for a good trainer. Running a marathon is not only training for running long distances, but also a very special nutrition plan.
start by walking around, then slowly turn to jogging then running.
