Do I have ADHD?

If you have ADHD or know someone with it, can you help me out? I'm disorganized, short attention span, I don't have energy or motivation to do anything. Like I want to do good and be successful but I can't get myself to get up and do. I'm currently enrolled in some classes but I'm flunking because I can't stay focused! I'm wondering if any of you think it may be ADHD or some other condition? If you think it is do I go to a regular clinic to get checked or somewhere else?

Please no negative comments because it's not like I want to be like this. I didn't used to be like this and I want to be back to my old self, I just don't know how.

I have actually been wondering the same thing about myself, as a young person. If you dont mind i have some questions... im not a doctor or anything but i have a big interest in clinical psychology and have done my fair share of research and books...

How long have you noticed this as a problem?/how old were you when some symptoms of adhd have been visable?

Explain your symptoms, are they more internal or external or both?

Do you any other health issues that could connect to that like social anxiety, drastic changes in moods, or anything?

If you wanna talk more i wouldn't mind at all i like discussing this kind of thing.

I've been feeling like this for about a year but recently I think it's gotten worse.

I think the main symptom that is causing problems is my lack of energy or motivation. It's like I just want to lay around all day. Well I don't WANT to but every time I tell myself I need to get up and do something I don't. I'll still be laying in the same spot for hours later. When I try to do my school work, I'll read for maybe like 5 minutes then my mind gets distracted and I'll just say "I'll do it later" but I never do.

As far as other health issues, I believe I may suffer from depression too but I'm thinking the depression was caused by the symptoms I listed above

Usually with adhd i believe its a case of being hyperfocused, doing many different things and never conoleting one, it does not strike me as adhd, especially because adhd is a neurological disorder which would mean you should have notices signs way earlier, unless its only just become a problem.

I do think there's something wrong, possibly its all depression. Can you remember anything that happened that made you feel like this and act like this?

Only a psychiatrist can tell you that. I think that you should definitely get checked out by one because I agree with @TonyRyanAgain that your symptoms could be indicators of depression.

I have terrible ADHD. Took me a long time to get in a routine and learn how to work with it. I'd go get an assessment done professional and see where you stand. Then start talking option as to whether or not you want to use medication.

ADHD is passed on by genes. You are born with it. Only a psychiatrist can make the diagnosis. We can't help you out.

Lack of energy.. I don't think ADHD causes that 🤔
I have ADD and I have a very low attention span. And I constantly have to be moving; I can't sit still.
