Searching for my long lost father?

My mom had an unexpected pregnancy with me and her Boyfriend (my father) but they never confirmed him as the father and shortly after he moved to Texas and started a new life and my mom just moved on. I looked him up on those yellow pages things and it gave me lots of info about him. I found out his phone number starts with 520 :that's my birthday !, his middle name is Vincent : my bf's name, and he is in the health services and I'm am studying in school to be in the health services ! Also, my address starts with 79 and so does his...tell me :does all of this seem like a crazy coincidence? It made me cry to see all those weird commonalities. Now I just need to gather courage to call him... what do you guys think about all of this?

I would do it and no matter how it ended I could tell myself I had the courage to take that step. You can never know the result unless you try.

I know that the potential for hurt is real - but if you are happy with who you are and where your life is going - what are you really risking? His reaction has nothing to do with you as a person, and I think if you keep that in mind and not expect anything, it is something you can survive.

I'm like to KNOW - I hate not knowing and I would only gain piece of mind having a tangible experience instead of a fantasy one.

You are who you want to be - his opinion of you after all this time should not really affect you personally (but we all know it can).

I vote - do it and see. The worst that can happen is you don't get to know someone you haven't known already.

I don't know, I think calling him could end badly.

1. He left before he was confirmed as your father, so he might not believe he is your father.

2. If he wanted to get into contact with you, he could have?

3. He has moved on with his life and you showing up in it may disrupt things for him. I.e. He may have a new family who he hasn't told about you.

4. He might question your intentions for getting into contact with him (i.e. you want money or something).

I'm not saying that it will definitely turn out badly (maybe I just watch too many movies), but it might not be as great as you're likely hoping. Think hard about why you want to find him. What do you expect to happen? What do you want to know? etc.

He actually does have a wife and kids, and my mom told him was definitely his and he visited me when I was 5. He beleived her but I guess they just didn't want to be together and he already moved on. so I'm pretty sure he knows I'm his daughter. As far as wanting money I can say right away I'm looking for naything I'm 24 its too late to ask for money lol. but you are right he could have gotten in touch but at the same time it frustrates me that he is raising his other kids..he not a bad man or fathe

Or father . I have a feeling he wanted nothin to do with my mom. she's a little crazy lol. no excuse but she chases people away, including my sisters dad. he was in her life when he was with my mom, when they broke up he barealy saw my sister (his daughter) and randomly sent money

You won't be happy until you call him and see what he thinks of you. Will he even know he is your father? Maybe you should suggest a DNA test to make sure.

Go for it but be prepared in case he doesn't want to get to know you now.
