What does it really mean when a guy says?

So I've been talking to this guy who we have been on and off unofficially all of a sudden says that he isn't looking for anything because a lot has changed, he told me he found out that there was health problems with his dad, but I have a good hunch he is still talking to his ex girlfriend, do you think this is just a nice way of saying hey I want to get back with my ex? Even though when him and I were just friends he's gotten back with his ex and never said anything about it.

honestly I think its either that he hasn't gotten over his ex yet, and wants to get back with her or he really just wants to stay single and mingle around with a bunch of girls if he is single. could go both ways. what do you mean by on and off? like dating? or looking to date?

Oh ok...well hmm... I think that is he was talking to you and looking to date you, and he says this all of a sudden then I'm sorry I think he might still have feelings for his ex, do you know if he was talking to her if he was talking to you too? like at the same time? if that's true then I think he could be playing you and his ex if they are still talking :/

I used to ask that and when I did he always says that they are friends.

Well..... I think he's a liar or hiding things....you should get into contact with his ex if you know her or not maybe she could clear things up with you its always good to find stuff out and never just trust the guy I've learned that the hard way. email her or I'm her on aim or Facebook message her or something I'm sure you can find out that info if you know her name or who she is. this sounds like a similar situtaion that happened to me.

Yes I do know her name and seen that she does have a Facebook. If I do contact her I'm sure she will tell him that I've contacted her and then major drama may start. He has told me that they do still talk.

Well jsut be sincere who knows maybe she's not interested in him and can tell you a lot and that will help you out. also if I was that girl I would have told you the truth just tell her its from woman to woman

He might be hoping to get back with her if he is not over her... if he is still talking to her its a sign one of them is not over it and will be interested to get back into the relationship...even if he does decide on a new realtionship it could just be a rebound relationshp.
