As far as I know it only stunts your growth if

- you injure a growth plate
- You cut weight to aggressively eg to big of a caloric defect
- not getting enough nutrition for your body to grow both height and muscle
I haven't heart of someone claiming bodybuilding stunted their growth but I have heard of people who injured themselves permanently from doing it.
Also here is a example (they are suspected of steroids though) of someone who's growth wasn't stunted

It's fine as long as you know what you are doing. Just make sure you eat the right foods and get adequate sleep and recovery.
At your age yes. Bodybuilding requires you to lift heavily and with you being a 16 year old boy you have plenty of growth in your bones left and that compression on your spine and bones might limit how you may grow. Wait a couple of years see how much you grow. You can still begin to build your muscles without fully committing to a bodybuilding regimen.
Bodybuilding does not affect your height, however, your diet does. So if you want to see actual muscles, you have to be really skinny and that's not recommended when you're still growing. So you if you want to do bodybuilding, eat enough food since you need a lot of energy for growing in length and doing all that exercise.
I don't think so but to what I read eating a lot of protein make you taller.

Yes and no. Being overweight can slow your growth, while being your fittest allows your body to reach your optimal potential height which is then determined by your genes. I've an uncle that's 7 feet so it's no surprise that I was always the tallest in my class. If I was full Asian I'd be around 5 feet but my English blood makes me a foot taller than my relatives in the philipphines. Still, body building can only be a good thing
when lifting weight the compaction of the spine is so short lived i can't see how it could have any lasting affect but i do think body builder do tend to appear short because they are so wide it alters normal perception of human proportion
Do it according to your height... if yr already 6' then you can go for it otherwise don't until you get 18
Yes bodybuilding makes your body focus on muscle growing instead of bone growing, but you know everyone is different! For example i started bodybuilding at 14 and now im 190 cm tall. My training wasn't anything really intense by the way
It depends what kind... But starting super early like 15 and continuing on definitely kinda screws up growth hormone I think... Don't listen to me thought i'm no doctor, it's just what I remember hearing
If your still growing some pepole say it can stunt your growth lifting heavy which isn't something iv looked into at all since im probly not growing any taller anyway and happy with my height so i dont know?
Although if your not it may improve your posture and that will make you naturally stand taller so it depends.Yes. It's been proven to be a factor in how tall someone can be, but only if they're still growing.
Here's an article I checked, to confirm my opinion, before in answered.
https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/sclark41.htmNo.
You are still young, so you have the ability to keep growing, but after mid 20s the body will not get any taller no matter what.it doesn't i don't get why so many people believe it they heard 1 myth now everyone thinks it's true. I started working out at your age and I'm 6'3 sooo no stunt growth here.
Nope, I know of powerlifters and strongman that have been training since they were 8, 13, 11, etc. They're tall fuckers.
Maybe... It'll probably slow down or diminish your growth a bit...
Depends on the workout. There are some exercises you should avoid. also avoid heavy weights & consult a trainer!
Nope. The only way to stop growing is to use specific hormones and steroids. These somehow trick your system and structure that it has reached an age to stop growing.
nope. but proper diet can! keep up with calcium and vitamin d
at your age it could stunt your growth. excessive exercise and especially strength training can affect your growth plates and cause them to close prematurely.
Been training 37 years. Competing in bodybuilding for 33 years. Started at age 13. My daughter started at age 9. Stunting your growth is a wives tale.
If you do very heavy exercises lifting stuff over your head while standing while you're still growing, maybe a little. But just doing arm curls or doing any kind of core/leg exercise has zero impact.
There has never been ANY evidence that lifting heavy weights stunts growth. Zip! Zilch! Nada!
Anyone who says that bodybuilding will affect height is either full of shit or a follower of fake news.It will stunt your growth some but it is worth it. You will be permanently stronger even if you stop working out. Your max strangth will be higher if you start while your body is still developing.
Dunno I've always been too lazy for bodybuilding and I'm the same 5'5" I was when I was 14. It has more to do with genes and nothing can be done about those yet.
