Anything about easy, gradual weight loss?

I've just recently been diagnosed with diabetes (type one, not the too-much-sugar kind), and I've put on a bit of weight since, 'cos it turns out the diet you have to adopt actually included more food (and fat!) than my original diet!

I had started loosing weight a few years ago, 'cos man, I used to be fat. I just have a bit of a tummy, now, but I'd still like to feel like I've completed the effort. Thing is, I can't exercise properly because I'm still really shaky as blood sugars go - doing liberal amounts of exercise could be dangerous until I'm really used to it, but that could be next year you know?

So I was wondering, is there any way I can loose weight without exercising excessively, or changing my diet?
Anything about easy, gradual weight loss?
