Recommendations on weight loss programs/gyms/whatever?

So I've gained 10lbs since I started my new job and that hit me hard. I haven't been that weight in 3 years. I get paid next Tuesday and I'm going to join something. Either just a gym and work with a personal trainer, or something like weight watchers/jenny Craig. Any opinions/advice on them? Also confidence issues, low self-esteem, insecurities all need to be fixed with me.
