Why would a girl like her like a guy like me?

There's this girl who's a very good friend of mine. I'm about 90% sure she likes me. She's displayed a lot if the classic signs. I'm wondering why her bff wouldn't have told me by now, but oh well.

My problem is that she's a very cute, good-looking girl, and I am a big guy. I'm 6'1" 250 lbs, although a good portion of that is muscle. I played football as a linemen so I'm overweight but I'm not obese looking or anything. Just a bigger dude. Some girls have called me a Teddy bear (which I guess is a good thing) but I've never had a girlfriend. I'm confident around friends but I don't know how I should approach her since this is the first girl since like middle school that I think I have a good shot at.

So I guess I have a few questions:

1. Would a good looking average sized girl go out with a guy like me?

2. How do you think I should bring up liking her? Should I even do it?

3. How do you think I could just ask her bff to see is she likes me? She'd be honest, but I wouldn't want her to go off telling her yet.

4. How can I know for sure she likes me?

1. I don't think your size would be a problem. Girls love teddy bears :)

2. Hang out with her even more, if you can. 1 on 1 is best. Let her know you enjoy spending time with her. If you already do, try suggesting more dating venues, like the movies. Don't make a move yet, but let her get comfortable. Be sure that she likes you.

3. I suggest not telling her bff until you're ready for her to know. She may "promise", but her loyalty to her friend can be too much to bear.

4. As I said, just spend more time with her. Drop subtle hints, jokingly at first, but get more serious as time goes on.
