not to be cocky, but I normally don't have a problem getting guys, and I used to be kind of a bitch about it, and would shut down guys pretty hard who tried to get to know me romantically. so last winter this really nice guy started to like me but he was a little pudgy and didn't play any varsity sports so I shut him down pretty hard. however, I realized I had made a huge mistake 3 months later and I started liking him and I've liked him for almost a year now. problem is: I'm afraid to tell him because I'm used to guys approaching me. he stares at me in class pretty consistently, and I always hold the gaze, smile, and look away like I'm supposed to- thought he might be into me, but last night he hooked up with some girl on the dance floor at a formal at our school. should I give up?

no, everyone knows that hook ups don't really mean anything. if you really do like him then I think you should approach him. sounds like you're pretty confident, so I think you should just go up to him and talk to him about it. like "hey ______ I just wanted to apologize for the way things played out in the past.. I was wrong and I realize that I do like you so if youd be willing to give us a chance id really like that"

first off, there is no "supposed to" its just do what you think, there are on set ground rules for flirting.

@ nate- look, its not my fault that I wasn't attracted to him. over time though he's become more attractive to me, because I like his personality so much. I just didn't know him that well last year.

i was really immature, and I didn't handle situations like that well, and I feel really bad about it...so I would love if I could get real advice instead of just "you seem like a bitch"

Well if you want real advice here it is:

Work your ass off. He probably feels rejected by you, so you need to reassure him of your feelings, you need to make all the moves and prove to him that you're worth it. Tell him how you feel and see whee it goes from there, but don't f*** him over again.
