Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Well, you already seem to have the “want-to” and that’s half the battle👍
As far as eating at work, I’d invest in a small cooler if you haven’t already, and start bringing something like a salad with grilled chicken in it, and a side cup with a “light” dressing. Then you don’t have to worry about heating something up. You can broil the chicken at night, even for a few days in advance, just season it with whatever you like (I go with salt, pepper, garlic powder, basil, and oregano👌), put the chicken breasts under the broiler bottom-side-up, I do 7 minutes, and then flip them, I go with an additional 8 minutes here, I just find it gives a nice crisp to the top side. For the salad itself, it’s wicked easy if you just buy baby spinach. Throw a handful in a bowl, I slice a couple baby carrots, some cucumber, and then I usually put in chickpeas for extra protein and either avocado or black olives for healthy fats. Black olives might be better for work salads, the avocado can start going brown if they sit too long. Olives are easier too since there’s no prep work required. Throw your chopped chicken in and you’re good to go. Then at night for dinner you can make a healthy meal that comes out hot, haha, and has brown rice or quinoa, something to give you that “full” feeling.
The other thing is: mind what you drink. I think a lot of people drink even more unhealthily than they eat, I know I used to. I’d be medium-concerned, or at least conscious, about what I was eating, I worked out consistently, but then my late night after work snack always included a big bottle of NesQuik chocolate milk🤦♂️ So really I was just spinning my wheels. Now I try to drink water or flavored seltzer only. I have a chocolate protein shake that’s my substitute for the chocolate milk. I stay away from soda, and all juices, real or artificial, the sugar is off the charts. Don’t fall into diet sodas, either, they’re sweetened with aspartame and shit, you’d be better off drinking a real-sugar soda, and that’s saying something. Seltzer took a minute to get used to, but now on the rare occasion I do drink a soda, it’s just too sweet for me. Seltzer makes me wonder why I ever bothered with soda in the first place, all I really wanted was the fizz, lmao.
Good luck, bro! Whether I was successful or just scolding myself for being unsuccessful, I always say, “all you have to do is do it!”
1. Meal prep. I cook all my food on Sundays and put them in handy to-go containers I've saved from restaurants. I get to eat healthy without cooking and cleaning every day
2. Fruit and raw vegetables - find what you LIKE to eat and remember some fruits are better than others (because of sugar content).
3. Cook with spices, not sauces. - sauces have extra stuff added in like sugar, but you can get great tasting food using herbs and spices that are also good for you.
4. Meal replacement/protein shakes - find one you enjoy drinking (that also doesn't have too much sugar) that preferably has at least 30g of protein in it. It's quick and easy, tastes great, and is a good healthy alternative to junk food. Plus, you can pair it with some fruit, veggies, or just plain bread if you're not full.
5. Mix it up - most people can't eat the exact same thing 5 days in a row even if they like that thing. But, by alternating days with different foods you can keep to a healthier meal plan without getting sick of eating the same thing every day. For example, some times I eat stir fry broccoli (extra spices, no soy sauce) with bell peppers, sometimes just steamed broccoli, and sometimes I cook broccoli with some Alfredo pasta.
Um... I'd also suggest googling for different healthy foods (especial plant-based options as they're easy to prepare) and trying some out on a weekend. Test out different kinds of sandwich (ham, pork, beef, chicken) and different kinds of soups.
From a nutritionist perspective, purchase a cooler bag and use a frozen milk drink popper to keep the foods cool. You can pack your bag with a 'make your own sandwich fillings' e. g. Sliced tomato, lettuce and sliced cheese with sliced ham, sliced chicken or tuna; wholemeal sliced bread, include a container of cut up fruits, a container of mixed nuts, a protein bar and/or cheese and crackers. All these will be filling and keep you going 👍 👍 you've got heaps of ideas on here
My boyfriend is like you and I get annoyed because he always eats out especially since I’m assuming you all will eat out together after working... he’s starting to eat salads as long as it’s a lot of meat in it. I make smoothies a lot so he likes those too. You just have to lay off the junk

Well, when I was working construction in remote areas and faced this same problem, I cooked my meals, loaded up a tupperware, and just ate it cold for lunch. Cold or hot doesn't affect how filling or healthy your meal is. Sometimes I'd just bring out cans, like can of soup, can of peaches, tuna, can of carrots and a fork if I didn't have anything made, just eat it all up, doesn't taste so hot, but it has the nutritional value, protein and calories there.
Always keep the cans of tuna around, they'll treat you right, you can do tuna and fruit for lunch for a while if you keep some bread around with it for carbs and some gatorade for salts.
Get a crockpot and some tupperware bowls, or a thermos.
Find the pre cut packs of Beef Stew ingredients. Find some beef stock.
Throw it all into your crockpot at home and turn it on to cook over night.
Serve your bowls the next day and enjoy beef stew for lunch. It's very healthy.
If you want more. Just google "Simple Crockpot Recipes". Tons of simple options on youtube, blogs and webpages dedicated to simple meals such as that. Increase your knowledge of healthy food options over time and it will all be demystified.
Whatever you decide. Just think about what will be the least amount of effort and still be good. Do that for every aspect of cooking and you'll make big strides over time.
I wanted to recommend to cook healthy on the weekend and keep it deep frozen in amounts small enough for one lunch but then you would need at least a microwave to heat it up. Otherwise you could get your healthy meal on the evening but then again you need to have something for lunch.
Maybe do some reading up on the internet on the Mediterranean Diet. It is considered to be among the healthiest. If you need to lose weight also, then the Weight Watchers program is considered to be among the best and you don't have to do weird stuff.
When I work construction, the mexican coworkers always brought fresh fruit, like oranges or watermelon, that shit hit so different when you working
I usually brought stir fry/rice so pretty much a mix of veggies, carbs and protein so it covered all the bases I needed.
My crush had been the first to convince me to eat healthy food, since in contrast to the others saying "you must", she was like "I like to eat this and that" to be on eye level with me about my likes and dislikes regarding healthy food. Since then I always think of her when buying healthy stuff to cook and look forward to talking to her about it.
You can eat fruits, fruit juice, green vegetables, dry fruits, oat, rice, spicy (more chilly). It can help you maintain your health. Will keep your stomach fit. Also don't eat junk food, sweets, oily food etc. Take little meal after every 4 hours.
You have to eat cold food if you bring your own? If so, prepare some salads and some king of protein (chicken, meat, fish, boiled eggs)
Some kind* sorry
That’s what thermos are for! keeps your Mexican chicken & vegetable soup hot, and coolers to keep your turkey and avocado sandwich chilled. Peanut butter and bananas are my fave on the go snack!
The entire internet is there for you. Use whatever platform you want. Just start doing it, there's not more to it. Note though that your body will need to get used and you will have cravings in the first weeks.
Well when I go shopping, I only buy healthy foods.. no snacks, soda, etc. I force myself to eat healthy because it’s all the food I have.
Count macros and most foods don't spoil if they aren't out of a fridge for just a day things like rice chinken and veggie will fill u up and not spoil
I work those kind of jobs , I'm on the carnivore diet, I carry beef sticks , jerky , cans of chicken etc with me and eat that. Now I have a big jar of pickled eggs, high protein and compact.
You need to incorporate fruit into your diet if you’re just eating meat.
@On_cloud_wine I use a lot of berries and things like apples to bake my tbone steak with.
Good. An Athletic trainer once told me the athletes he use to train never made a bowel movement because all they ate was meat! Not recommended! lol
@On_cloud_wine You don't have many bowel movements because you use up most of what you eat. There is much more food value in meat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLF29w6YqXs
by the way, good choice in a steak cut... did you know that red wine can help break down the fatty tissue and help with digesting it?
@MackToday, I just now got around to
the video! Sounds like a high protein, low carb diet, similar to the Atkins diet. Everyone would notice a difference in their overall mood and health if they cut out refined sugars and processed food, and limit themselves on the bread and pasta. Good way to lose weight, but not healthy as permanent diet.
Just select foods that are known to promote health and lay off of junk foods.
Carry tiffin box from ur home it's simple or eat fruits
