It's not that cut and dried.
There are the lunatic fringe anti vaxxers who are against ALL vaccines and don't get their kids or themselves vaccinated, despite the fact that polio, smallpox and most childhood diseases have been wiped out because of vaccines.
There are practically no 40 year olds in the United States, or younger, who've had measles, mumps or chicken pox (a distant relative of smallpox, and less virulent). Few people get rubella, or German measles, which is highly contageous and dangerous for pregnant women and causes a host of birth defects to an unborn fetus including mental retardation, blindness and deafness, to name a few. It also causes stillbirths and spontaneous miscarriages.
Know anyone who's gotten Tetanus, or "lockjaw". Of course you don't. It's been vaccinated to near non-existence. Flu shots protect the very young and old. Infants are most likely to die of flu, then the very old. Immunization of adults, and infant and elder caregivers protects babies and older people. However, people in the prime of life have been killed by the flu. Flu vaccines aren't perfect, only about 50 percent effective, but in the 30 odd years I've been taking the shots I've had the flu maybe two or three times. I used to have it once or twice a year.
Hepatitis A and B have been vaccinated down to bare minimums, but nearly a million people die worldwide from Hep B. Both cause chronic liver disease and lifelong complications. The vaccines prevent this.
Pertussis, or whooping cough, where the child actually SOUNDS like a whooping crane and infants can die of the illness.
Diptheria: A nasty illness that still exists, but vaccination against it is the cure, same as with all the others. It causes breathing problems and death in infants. Highly contagious. Rotavirus is another early childhood illness that can lead to death. Vaccines prevent it.
Now I've had whooping cough, measles, mumps and chickenpox and was lucky enough not to have the severe scarring from chickenpox: your face looks like pizza cheese or you've had severe acne. None of these illnesses is necessary. We all missed many days of school because of them and entire classes would be wiped out because two or three people had one or another of these illnesses.
My point is NOT getting vaccinated causes needless suffering for yourself and your children and OTHER people. The fact that you can infect OTHERS is the most pressing need to use vaccines. Maybe YOU won't get sick. But you could carry these illnesses to others and spread infections.
That is the bottom line. The fears about some vaccines: The Moderna one shot seems to have several problems. The Pfizer and the other two shot regiment have had none of the side effects of the one-shot version. So the choices are obvious.
Safeguard yourself, your children and everyone you know and come in contact with. That is the only rational choice.
On the other hand vaccinated people can still infect vaccinated people, so what's the difference? The technology these vaccines are using is still very new and it's criticised by A LOT of doctors (the majority of docs that I know do not want to be vaccinated) and for good reason! We don't even know yet how exactly the virus can incect the cells! It's not attacking the nucleus like other viruses do... the vaccine is basically a "let's gamble and pray"...
@Nmalinova The only vaccinated people who can infect other vaccinated people are those who've been infected by sick people. It takes far more EXPOSURE to become ill if you're vaccinated and people who are vaccinated don't DIE of corona virus. 95% of the people who are currently infected are people who have NOT BEEN VACCINATED.
Vaccination has NEVER BEEN 100%. As of the current infectious variant, the vaccines out there are at present 88% effective: So, not as effective as 94%, as they were for the initial infection variant. AND TIME HAS PASSED. Vaccines lose efficacy OVER TIME!!!
It will come to a point where we'll have to have booster shots just like kids and flu vaccinne people have to get yearly. It'll just be another illness that will be added to the list for us to prevent.
These vaccines are not gambles. They work. ANd since states are reinstituting Mask mandates, seems like they are realizing if no one else wants to use preventative medicine, we'll be come like Japan: everyone will wear masks all the time. But Japan, with 6% of its population vaccinated, is also suffering nationwide outbreaks DESPITE mask wearing.
Masks alone are not enough. Neither is vaccination alone. I am fully vaccinated and when in public, enclosed spaces, I wear a mask too. I like being alive AND well. I'm planning to stay that way.
I was going to vote, but I couldn't pick yes or no. At least with regard to Covis, I DO believe anti-vaxers are ignorant, ridiculous, and ultimately do cause an increased health risk to their neighbors, friends, co-workers, and honestly to our entire world population. Having said that, I cannot agree with the notion that others unwilling to get vaccinated "are being selfish". That's because being "selfish" implies or suggests not giving a damn about others. Sure, anti-vaxers may refuse to get vaccinated but not because they believe they are safe and immune from risk, while uncaring for all others who might get sick or die. Irrational as it may be to me or in the face of science, anti-vaxers are making a choice and cling to the belief that they stand a far greater risk of illness or death (or religious persecution) by being injected with a Covid Vaccine.
In spite of the far greater harm that will probably result from increasingly deadly Covid variants that evolve out of the absence of establishing a true Herd Immunity, I would have no choice but to stand up and defend those peoples rights. Once those rights are lost, we as a society will digress back to the Roman Empire turning men & women into slaves without rights and life without freedom or liberty.
Language is interesting when people twist the actual meaning and use it to shape a narrative or viewpoint.
Anti-vaxxer would originally imply that people are against getting ALL shots for immunizations for particular diseases we have found cures for. It is not to be used for a mass of people who choose not to get one fucking "vaccine".
The context has lost its meaning, much like other words today that have become nothing more than buzzwords for simple disagreement of opinion and perceived oppression. Common courtesy is gone and disrespect has soared through the roof.
If "Anti-Vaxxers" are so selfish for refusing the COVID vaccine, then what about the individuals who received it crying foul and borderline wanting people to be mandated to get it? Double standard, much? How the hell is that not selfish? We can use other arguments that revolve around personal beliefs and individual rights, but what this will turn out to be at the end of the day is people will make decisions based on what is convenient for them or what suits their beliefs or ideology.
No different from religion, political affiliation, pro life/choice, etc.

No. "My body, my choice." And COVID has less than a 1% fatality rate. I'm not putting some dangerous sh*t in me hat politicians, late night talk show hosts, and donut companies are bribing you to get that's been proven to be unsafe. I'm not even an "anti-vaxxer,' not that any of these dumbass sheep who listen to CNN and Stephen Colbert have any f*cking clue about how medicine or vaccines work.
I'm so sick of STUPID-ass sheep (usually on the political left) acting all morally and intellectually superior when all they do is obey and consume product. It's aggravating how the dumbest people in society take issue with those skeptical of a rushed, unsafe vaccine, but won't direct a single bit of that ire to the Chinese Communist pieces of sh*t that spread COVID globally, in the first place. You've gotten the shot; WTF are you still bitching about? You're supposedly "safe" now, right? Go bother someone else.
I'm never getting that bullsh*t. If none of you like that, you can suck my unvaccinated knob.
No, I don’t at all. On the contrary, the vaccine pushers on all levels including the vaccine bullies herein are guilty of attempting to force, or coerce an experimental vaccine being manufactured by capitalists with a profit accounting line that are completely unaccountable for their actions by waived legal retribution. How is this much different from the miracle cure Dr. with a horse drawn wagon of an epoch where there was no accountability? If you actually look at medical journals independent of the big pharmacy success rates claimed online, the best that the group tests could claim is around 50%. Now given the high uncertainty of long-term effects, and near term incidents of the vaccine distribution coupled with >99.8% Covid survival rate (not the health centers profit motivated rate), It makes no sense to risk the vaccine if one is a healthy person. Just recently, doctors have been coming out that now say the natural acquired antibodies will provide immunity for over ten years. I was sent into a hot spot and I caught it several months before the lockdowns hit. I have the antibodies, and therefore, I have no reason to get the vaccine. I know a personal case that had it, received the vaccine, and relived the Covid symptoms again but much worse the second time around. In addition, the CDC (Fauci missing in action) claims of asymptomatic transmission was reversed by the CDC and the Frauduci himself. Therefore, what part of my choice not to receive the vaccine has anything to do with selfishness or a threat to world health? It affects no one but the big overstocked pharmacy that now is going to push a third dose to attempt to make up for poor success rates and overstock. I wish good to luck to all of you human test rats as the long term effects begin to emerge because the vaccine pushers are the selfish-threat to world heath by political motivations, profit lines, or ignorance.
I AM NOT AN ANTIVAXXER
But I won't take the covid shots.
Wich aren't vaccins at all.
Mexican flu shot I have had as a kid almost I been Lucky enough to not end up with the disease that makes you stop breathing in your sleep a lot of other Kids born in 1994 have had that it took 10 years to figure out that only thing all these Kids had in common was the flu shot.
Been very sick from the shot myself.
So no I am not selfish our dangerous for not wanting to take that risk again. Actually it is People like you that demand everyone takes it that are the dangerous and selfish ones.
I'd really like to get back to living but for 1,5 years I have been waiting untill the rules that don't even help will be lifted instead I got excluded from things opening up and they used numbers too justify schutting us down for longer.
Also the FDA and EMA both have not actually approved any of the shots.
So no I am not selfish our dangerous I Just feel the need to be protective over my body to be certain I don't end up with the unlucky ones
What's selfish is pressuring people to take it against their will without taking responsibility for the consequences.
You have your choice to take it and you did so leave us alone. If it truly works and is safe then you have nothing to fear from us.
This is dumb. A person has the right to choose. It doesn't matter what they choose. Each person makes their own choice based on personal fears, risks and ideas.
All this talk about people not taking the vaccine are risking public safety by potentially kicking off another mutation? Seriously? That's a foregone conclusion. COVID is here to stay. It will be mutating for the next 100 years and then some. It's the next common cold.
All the mutations right now are not home-grown, but coming across from nations that are begging vaccine makers to send them massive doses. Is the first world nations answering the call? No, not really. That's the hotbed of mutations right now. Not some healthy person in the States or Europe who have a 99% survivalability rate.
I just find it funny that people have been calling us anti vaxxers, just because we have yet to get one vaccine that is not FDA approved yet.
I've probably been shot up with more vaccines than them.
People always tell others to be mindful of their health and to take care of themselves, but the moment they do they're "selfish".
If selfishness me wanting to make sure a brand new vaccine is at the very least fda approved before I put it in my body, then yes. I'm selfish. & There's nothing wrong with that.
Not to mention how fast this “vaccine” came out
@Daniel-Lingl Mhm. People are trying to say it's safe and there are no side effects when the truth is it JUST came out. They literally don't know the side effects. It hasn't been studied long enough. I'm military and medical and they still give us the freedom to choose to get the vaccine. They literally NEVER let us choose, lmao. So that tells me they are not yet ready to take responsibilities of the possible outcomes yet. So again. I'll take it when it's fda approved of if my job makes me.
That’s the truth. The incentives that are being pushed are increasingly suspicious. I wish the CDC had been more upfront about this at first. Then they wouldn’t have to worry about people not getting it.
@Daniel-Lingl Agreed.
Absolutely not. First, the jab is not a vaccine. It's an experimental gene modification therapy. The public is being used as the clinical trial. It's effects are not even known.
Even the manufacturers say that a person who has received the jab can still contract and transmit covid. They merely "hope" that it reduces symptoms.
And the effects of the jab are starting to become known. How many develop blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, sterility, organ and neurological damage? How many permanent injuries and deaths?
All for a germ that has a very low mortality rate for people under 70 or 80 years old or have serious pre-existing conditions. And why have inexpensive, extremely safe and highly effective treatments been maligned and banned?
People should be given ALL the facts and be allowed to make their own, informed health decisions. Coercion violates the Nuremberg Codes and many national and international laws.
Considering you'd have to be so amazingly dumb or disinterested to be unable to research your own interests to see that they are constantly being debunked, an anti-vaxxer is about as smart as someone religious.
It's blind faith when there is an abundance of information, including full ingredient lists for each vaccine and studies done on each individual ingredient in each vaccine. It really is putting your fingers in your ears and intentionally ignoring the world over a weak idea that you trust for no substantial reason.
In terms of health risk, well it's the unvaxxed ones that are getting sick and dying now, so I guess we'll see if they're a threat to me or not.
I Am allready doing 1,5 years of being healthy without covid flu it is actually the People that have had their shots and keep testing themselves that are getting sick
Covid has a fatality rate under 1%. The majority of cases are even asymptomatic they are so mild.
The 2020 PREP act in the USA also specifically provided the vaccine makers immunity except for "willfully negligence." So even if the vaccine gives 20% of the patients heart failure from inflamed hearts, which is now becoming strongly linked to the vaccine, the vaccine makers are immune to liability unless you can prove they were WILLFULLY negligent.
The national vaccine injury compensation fund also strangely does not cover people who suffer severe side effects after taking the vaccine.
You have fun taking the vaccine if you want. I already had covid and I went from feeling ill Monday to being back at work Friday.
I don't think they're actively dangerous (exceptions made for those lunatics who cough on/spit on people - they're actively dangerous and should be prosecuted for assault where feasible), but they are harming everyone else by their spreading of misinformation, fear, and virus.
Unvaccinated hosts are breeding grounds for variants - which puts all of us, even those with vaccines, back in danger.
But I don't know that they're selfish. They're dumb, maybe, or at least being manipulated and misinformed without knowledge of it. But I think a fair portion of them probably think they're helping, not hurting. Which is the real damage of misinformation and GOP propaganda.
Funny I think the same of you. Breeding ground for fkd up mutated spike proteins that would never originate in nature, a. k. a, ACTUAL dangerous diseases. I think you are dumb and manipulated by propaganda. Not necessarily selfish, more just cowardly, it's so easy to stay within the safety of the herd and not be slandered throughout all sects of society for your belief.
You represent the real danger of propaganda. You right here. You have no idea what it is you are putting in your veins, you are relying on blind faith. This kind of shit right here is exactly how extremely dangerous, unnatural diseases come to be. People like you and the assholes who create the very effective propaganda you are a victim of.
Just a glimpse into the other side, take from it what you will.
Whatever you want, dude. I know the science, I trust the science.
Science and fact aren't propaganda. Taking your information from news sources owned by billionaires? That's propaganda.
But hey, if I die, have a cookie.
Yes and no.
I believe in freedom, but with freedom also comes responsibility. I believe we all have the responsibility to do our part to end Covid and therefore we should all be vaccinated.
However, I think that when it comes to being injected with something, your personal freedom of choice should prevail, so while I feel strongly that everyone should get the vaccine, I feel stronger that it should not be forced.
The unfortunate part is that many of those who do not want to get vaccinated, also refuse to wear a mask and refuse to practice social distancing, walking around like it's all a big joke and they are the only smart ones in the group.
If you don't want to get vaccinated, fine, but please stay away from others.
I'm perfectly OK with stores saying "You don't have to get vaccinated, but you can't come in here unless you are".
I think they will be just a threat to each other, because once you're vaccinated you won't get harmed by covid, yet you can still have it, on the other hand, beacause of people that refuse to get vaccinated it will cost us our freedom once again.
I have a feeling that we will start from the beginning this winter...
I'm not a fan of this vaccine, but honestly, can it even get any worse?
So I'm doing it to protect myself, will it turn me into a vampire after 3 years? Well hey I always wanted to be one when I was little...
I got nothing to loose, i'm respecting society, if society is killing me with this vaccine then the ones that caused it have to sleep at night with blood on their hands, while I'm sipping on a Martini with Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.

So sad
@m33lad Yes I believe that’s the aim of the game.
For a start*
🤔🤔🤔
@Babewithplan Where in my comment did i mention that i'm gloryfing it? What is there actually to WIN? You think we there will be happily ever after? You know i accept my fate, because me being a part of humans, will accept whatever fate that comes to me, because US HUMANS ruined this beautiful world. And if it's meant to ruin us all, we probably deserved it, look at all these negative thoughts, negativity in general, the hate, the trolling, the devastation, the NATURE SUFFERING... we deserve what is comming for us... nothing to loose here just saying i'm not scared
@natured That is pretty much my entire point. It’s not “fate”. It’s some people with much power who are exercising this power to control the entire population. It’s not about being scared, but about fighting for our human right which is freedom to do wtf we want and when we want and not be told to cage ourselves in like animals and not have the authority to say NO. Here in Australia, we’re back in lockdown after many months and this time the police are handing out infringement notices for people who dare walk outside and LIVE LIFE. Wtf.
@Babewithplan Yes I know we where in lockdown during winter as well, now that it's summer it seems like people even forgot that it ever happened, no masks in public, all bars open, everything seems back to normal.
The thing is, we tried to go against the people with much power, but it's not that easy, you can't risk your family and others life.
I'd jump up and fight, but how I'm I supposed to do it alone? are you fighting too as we speak? No... you're locked and your abiding and looking down just like all of us. SO IT'S USELESS some heroes give up ;)
No and any one who claims that is anti science or very ignorant on how science works. Also you cannot be a threat to the whole world, herd immunity kicks in and so you could never be that big of a threat even if we ignore the fact that this disease has a lethality of.007% for almost all demographics and we have a vaccine. If you have taken the vaccine you are no longer threatened by the disease, any claims to the contrary either mean the person doesn't understand how vaccines work OR they are just trying to force other to do their bidding because they are authoritarians in which case they never really cared about keeping people safe to begin with. Their are no other options that I can see.
I'm not an anti-vaxxer. I'm not against vaccination, I'm the person who doesn't care what you do. You do you.
I'm not vaccinated yet because I'm kinda scared of getting covid symptoms. I don't want covid again. Even though I might not get covid from it, I just don't wanna put my employment at risk.
I still might get the vaccine. I might have to because someone told me that they're saying that students can't go back to school without getting vaccinated. My mom said that if they make a vaccine for children under 5, she isn't letting her 2yo daughter getting vaccinated because she has heart problems.
I say I'm kinda scared of getting vaccinated because I'm too much of a paranoid person.
My daughter had a booster for diphtheria , meningococcus & tetanus via her school today , which has been around for a while , and had similar myself , so am not truly " anti vax " as per the propaganda that would make Kim Jong Un proud. However neither of us are having this heavily pushed covid jab , which has been accompanied by " media " BS and a REAL pandemic of brainwashing , virtue signaling & 24/7 fear porn , if this " super deadly virus " was as bad as the " official sources " all made out , we would be at medieval population levels by now ! Downvote me all yer like !!
That depends on their actions. An anti-vaxxer that chooses to stay on lockdown/self-isolation until they are comfortable with getting the vaccine is harming no one. There is nothing wrong with rejecting and refusing the vaccine. However, a person who rejects the vaccine but still goes around (outside) without taking the proper precautions to protect others from the (higher) chance that they are a carrier/spreader is definitely a threat to the health of others. I voted "yes" because the anti-vaxxers I have met also seem to have a problem with taking these necessary precautions against the spread of the virus (which makes them a threat to the health of others).
We are free to believe whatever we want to believe. It only becomes a problem when our beliefs endanger the lives of other people.
No. In my country they say that the vaccines don't stop you from getting the virus, but "reduce the symptoms". Don't buy into the propaganda. A vaccine is supposed to stop the virus getting into your body in the first place. That's its job and its purpose; if it can't do that, the whole point of introducing it into your body is lost. Add to this, the fact that today's vaccines are said to come with the risk of dangerous complications. Why would I marry a woman who is just as likely to kill me as to make me happy?
People have a right to refuse treatment.
It's not like they don't have side effects my second Pfizer shot left me with severe chest pain for 3 weeks.
While I don't think it is a problem in this case, the technology itself is very much a possible vector for massive human rights violations if used unethically.
In short people should be free to weigh their own pros and cons and make their own choice and if that means being selfish will tough shit that's the nature of living in a free society.
It’s simple. If you are moderate to high risk (30 and older, overweight to obese, compromised immune system, etc.) then the benefits outweighs the risk. I got fully vaccinated 3 months ago despite testing negative for covid 15 times (and I know I was exposed). I think I have a resistant blood type but still I got the vaccination.
But I do NOT think it should be mandatory or even encouraged to give young people 20 and younger vaccinations. I think forcing this on kids 12 and younger is borderline child abuse. Worldwide the child fatality rate for covid is infinitesimally low and yet people don’t want to “follow the science” on those statistics. Why?
Anyway we still don’t know the long term side effects of this vaccination and why should very low risk people be getting it? Can someone please explain to me WHY giving this to children should be mandatory please? The adults are already vaccinated so what’s the point?
Anti-vax it’s something sheep say people who are anti-thinkers people who refuse to research people follow the mainstream people who are brainwashed and they don’t even know it.
The only way people like you will learn and wake up will start to think is when you finally will perish for lack of knowledge yeah go take the VAX see what happens to you. It will not always be immediately this time w the cigarettes that they told us six years ago that it was good for us.
Remember the VAX protects you why do you care if other people get it or not you fucktard!
