Anonymous(18-24)+1 yA pound is about 3500 calories, but the average person with no exercise only burns about 1200 calories a day, if you didn't eat for a week you could lose 2.5 pounds, and if you continued on that path you could lose 10 pounds every month. However realistically you would probably pass out by that point due to temptation and a lack of essential electrolytes that you would need for your nerves - otherwise you would feel fatigued and get massive headaches.
But if you did have them, your body is quite resilient it could last for a while without food. The only thing you would have to worry about is referring
Still I'm not recommending this though05 Reply

Ok, my BMR (basal metabolic rate) is 2000 calories a day. If I eat one cup of starch, one egg, and a tbsp of butter, which I have been doing, I would only get 300-400 cals a day. How much weight will I burn in a day without working out?
Opinion Owner+1 yAbout 1600-1700 cals a day, and if you kept on the path I'd say about 3.2 pounds a week, but if you do engage in minor actives there's still a good possibility of putting a strain out your body or refeeding as a result. If your not used to a fasted state, low glucose levels could spike your hunger and possibly make you binge again (not enough to gain weight) but enough to put you back were you started.
It's easier to manage a smaller calorie deficit (like 1200 calories a day) with foods you enjoy, rather than a huge one (300 calories per day) with foods you hate. The stress for restricting may cause you refeed/binge.
Opinion Owner+1 yAlso if your going to do it would ecommend that you do not weigh yourself frequently especially after drinking water (maybe every other weekat best), water weight can make you feel as if your not making progress even though you are. Just remember that as long a you keep the deficit you don't really have to worry about how many calories you lose, or what those calories are made of - you would still lose weight.

Losing weight means to also lose muscle and end up skinny fat, unless ur really overweight. And no one wants to be skinny😭
So lose fat only. When the process is done, the muscle will be defined and create a more attractive look.
So stick to the healthy 1 lb a week FAT loss goal to be happier with your results. :)12 Reply- +1 y

How much water weight do you have. Have you already started cutting weight. As a former wrestler I know a lot about cutting weight. The most I have seen is 3 pounds in a 24 hour period. I heard someone lost 0. Neither was good, safe, nor healthy, but it happened. The 3 pounds was me and I was throwing up every 2 hours. The 10 pounds was someone who wore a plastic suit and worked out in a sauna for 2 hours. I think he was hospitalized for dehydration and heat exhaustion.

@Charliefretz329 I lost 11 lbs from 114 my senior year. People said I looked like a corpse. +1 yThis is a pretty stupid question. Most of the weight you'd lose in a single day would come from loss of water. Actually losing weight is more about making changes in your metabolism, body composition, and biochemistry. People who are overweight need to focus more on exposing the body to an appropriate amount of stress, eating right, and learning to recover and being consistent with their training programs. We are just living in a culture of instant gratification where people want all the results right now and aren't willing to devote themselves to a difficult process.

+1 yIt's POSSIBLE to lose two pounds a DAY, but it's as safe as a slow and steady loss, and it's less likely to "stick". Successful eating modification generally aims for one to two pound loss per WEEK, when combined with increased exercise.

m +1 yAmericans are always about the big numbers, the instant effect, the greatest show. Reality does not work that way, there is no "magic bullet". If you realized you are obese, you have to change your whole lifestyle, at least the nutritional part. Forget diets and the deadly illusion of returning to your old food habits afterwards, it'll only get worse and worse ("Yo-yo effect").
A healthy, long-term weight loss happens over 18-24 months, losing 1-2 kg per week.
- Stop drinking sugar water (Americans call it "soda", which is a lie in itself)

if u wana lose weight i recommend keeping it to at most 3lbs a week so u're not losing muscle31 Reply- 415 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yUnless you fast, probably nothing. And even IF you fast, you'd have to have a deficit of 3600 calories to lose a pound. A normal, active human consumes between 1800 and 2500 calories per day. So, if you'd eat nothing: half a pound. But it's unlikely you could keep that up or keep that weight off. You'd get too hungry the next day.

NOT 'fun'! :(00 ReplyI once lost five pounds in a single day. I drank a ton of water, worked out for four hours in the morning until noon, the worked out another two in the evening from 6 to 8, and took a big dump by 8pm. So it's not that hard, but it's definitely not easy, either. And you likely couldn't do it for very long.

Depends where you are and what you are doing, If you are a man and fully hydrated, working hard in a hot dry environment, you can loose 20lb a day just from water loss, if you are on a calorie controlled diet you could loose 1 - 2lb per week safely, that figure would vary between people.
00 ReplyWell I know it's healthy for a regular person to lose 2 pounds a week 50% of a pound would make 4 days and 25% of a pound makes 8 days so probably about 28% a day if you wanna be accurate
20 ReplyAn actual weight-loss in 24 can be up to 3 lbs but that is in severely obese cases and is mostly water weight. In a normal condition you can loose about a 50% of a pound if fasting, hydrated and exercising in fast.
20 ReplyDepends how far you are willing to go... but if you are looking for a healthy way to do it, its the long game, and it's what you've always known, drink plenty of water, eat mostly vegetarian, and that means fruits and veggies not pasta everyday. Then on top of that maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nothing else is sustainable long term. And most importantly, spend more calories than you consume.
00 ReplyI thought a pound but with googling it says that a human body can lose than more than 3 pounds in a day but depending on if you don't drink water, do physical activity, have a diet, have muscle issues, or if you don't eat, etc. But it isn’t healthy to lose more than a 2 pounds per week.

+1 yYou could loose 1/2 a pound; however, it's not sustainable and the law of diminishing returns occurs also - each day it gets harder to loose as much.

I know it might sound extreme, but it is possible. However, you will probably not only need to work hard, but make an extreme diet adjustment.
00 ReplyI've shed far more than 1 pound in a day. Upwards of 6-10 lb not even attempting to cut weight. If I was I could have cut more weight
But how much fat can you lose in a day? I don't know if you can lose 1 pound of fat in a day. But maybe00 Replythere are 3500 calories in pound of body fat you burn 1800 - 2400 calories a day. If you run for 7 miles you might burn around 1000 calories. So you would need to do all that to burn a pound a day
Healthy wise you can use about 500 - 1000 calories a day from. so between 1-2 pounds a week.01 Reply921 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Without googling, I'd say that half a pound is the max for one day. And that's quite a lot.

@Jaximus-Lion Well, you already made the conversion. You converted 2 kilograms per week to 4.5 pounds per week. So now you just have to solve. Divide 4.5 by 7.
