ok, well the general rule is eat less and move more. but there are other tips, like...
walking burns a lot of calories, even just half an hours walk gets your heart going and raises your metabolism so if you can walk somewhere then walk. swimming is good too but you'll find if you're walking more you will shift weight.
if you think you're hungry, drink a glass of water- quite often hunger and thirst are confused because its just your stomach being empty. snack on things like nuts, fruit, even low fat snacks, breakfast bars. I sometimes have a handful of cornflakes if I'm peckish
eat lots of fresh fruit and veg. weight has settled around your stomach because its 'heavy' saturated fats so doesn't travel far. if you're eating greens etc it shifts that.
drink green tea! it raises your metabolism, has anti-oxidants, a small amount of caffiene, and its yummy :) you can get it with mango and other fruits infused if you don't like the taste
its also mind over matter...if you go to eat and its not mealtime, are you really that hungry? I quite often eat when I'm bored, its all about willpower.
if you're sitting around a lot try and get up and move around the house every half hour or so, or even jsut move in your seat, even jiggling your legs and stuff needs energy and will all help
you can't really 'spot target' areas but luckily for you thighs and belly are quite easy to lose weight from. hope this helped! :)

I recently jumped on the calorie counting bandwagon, and I'm so glad I did! I used to hate the idea and always refused to do it, thinking it would be too obsessive and annoying. But it's actually really easy and you get the hang of it fast. Plus, it's working.
The trick is, you don't want to go too low in calories, or you'll feel like crap and it will eventually backfire. And you don't have to be anal, using a rough estimate usually works just fine.
Here's a calorie calculator - I actually like this whole site.

Try to eat healthy by eating lots of fruits and veggies, and eat whole grains instead of refined grains when you can. Avoid sugar and white flour. Lean protein keeps you full.
Anyways, I wish I had just tried this years and years ago before I tried a million different diets. This would have saved me a lot of frustration.
if you want a fast way to reduce your weight then stand on one leg on the weighing machine and you would find your weight reduced tremendously then you keep the other leg you would find it increased all of a sudden.so there is no fast way to loose weight.hahaha
it would take time - exercising and eating healthy food (dont diet) would help.
Eat less than you burn every day. That's the ONLY way. Count calories. Also count how much of what you eat is protein, carbs, fat. Eat healthy so that you don't lose muscles, work out if you want to burn more calories every day and to stimulate your muscles. Persevere. That's it.
There is no "fast" way...good things come with time... Dieting and exercising...
