How to protect yourself from Covid?

My girlfriend is scared of getting it again she had it last week lucky she only lost her voice and had a bad cough she has a heart condition so next time could be worse. She was in the hospital for a week the emergency room was a nightmare for her she was put in a room next to some person dont know if they were mentally disabled or some kid but half the night they were up screaming and crying kept saying I wanna die which upset her. Then the nice doctors who arranged her mom to ride in the ambulance with her to the hospital the EMS people decided to be very rude they wouldn't let her ride because she was an adult they argued with her mom for 10 minutes then the guy said I'm done arguing with you they were just plain rude the lady didn't say nothing just the guy did. She has autism the minds of a child she can't answer medical questions lucky she even remembered what medicine she was allergic to that's all they asked and what if they were to put an IV in her she needs her mom for that thank god they didn't. The guy was very rude even after the doctors told us we could ride I guess the state doesn't care if something happens to a disabled adult who has a heart condition she said it's not fair that kids get all the special treatment during covid disabled adults like her. Hope to God this never happens again she's now scared to go out she was scared to go to work yesterday. Lucky it's only on Monday for 4 hours it still bothers her. She went to stay with her grandma last week because she was afraid to go to her uncle's he go out and around people her grandma doesn't she's still nervous to go. We tried to protect her from this for 2 years went to Tennessee for a week she came home sick so now she's scared to go anywhere. She hates wearing masks some she can't breath in. She has to go to the doctor tomorrow she's a little nervous. How can I protect her from this? What can she do to protect herself?
