For me, I usually curl up with a good book, watch a video or movie online, and just curl under my blanket until I nod off.
I know the feeling all too well- my job stresses me out too, so I'm trying to avoid emotional eating/drinking, or unhealthy habits for the sake of my weight and health.
Take a nice long bath, listen to music, take a walk, go for a jog, dance in your underwear, etc. Doesn't matter as long as it works for you. Find something to make you laugh, something that let's your mind let go of intrusive thoughts, and another that relaxes your muscles.

Stress is the #1 killer, so I don't tolerate it. If something is stressing me at work, I come up with a plan to eliminate the root cause
1) Is it co-worker? Simple, give a strong impression you will not communicate with them about anything. Don't answer their emails, phone calls, nothing.
2) Is it a boss? Break out the voodoo doll
3) Is it the actual work? Find someone else to do it and work on getting a promotion by taking credit for the work they do that you're supposed to be doing.
Exercise is good. It is healthy and can be distracting from a day's work. For me, going to a gym is more distracting from stress than exercising at home. Watching a movie that you like can be a good escape. I like to drink alcohol but it isn't a good habit and you don't want to have the knee-jerk reaction of having a stressful day and then drinking.
I think a fruit and vegetable smoothie will calm you better than a glass of alcohol, not all vegetables are expensive. Radishes are cheap where I live and so are carrots and pineapple and lemons. Find seasonal or local vegetables and fruit cheap where you are and make yourself a smoothie. Drinking a herbal tea with honey or milk would also work - don’t use both because honey and milk together lead to weight gain but separately is fine.
A nice cold shower, the curtains drawn, air conditioner on, grab some soda and snacks and jump on my PC to play video games.
Bear in mind, I'd only de-stress if I have the next day off. Otherwise if I know I have get up early and grind again, I'd rather go to sleep.
Most weeknights I play my piano or violin, sometimes compose a new jazz riff. Go for a bike ride. Water plants in my garden. I have this egg-style chair in my backyard under the trees and its my safe zone from screaming kids where i can read and listen to music.

I come home and make dinner (wife cleans which is great because I hate that part) and then I play games with friends. Then at 8PM my wife and/or partner will watch some shows or have sex and relax on the couch. Then bed.
Overall I don't get too stressed at work as I've engineered my circumstances to prevent stress.
I go to gym in the morning for my “happy hormones” to kick in and push me through the first half of the day. After 5pm, I relax by playing video games, listening to podcasts, listening to audiobooks, or just simply talking to a friend.
I make dinner, sip my green tea and finish it with water… do some light cardio and finish it with a nice warm bath or hot shower. Put on some nice pjs and watch some of my shows and read before I doze off 😴 to dreamland
I just like to lay down in my comfy bed with all my pillows blankets and enjoy the bliss. Quiet in my apartment studio. Or eat a yummy dessert. To me if I’m stressed I just want throw myself on my bed just be home that’s it.
Shower with some acupressure points that work for me, later laying down for a moment with a cool drink, focus on breathing with some small noise in the background.
My de-stress is free... watch some funny YouTube videos. And if I still need to relax, watch some porn and masturbate... that does happen sometimes. 😉

Take a nice long shower and just sit in the tub for a bit with the water coming down on me. To me the sound helps relieve my anxiety. Then I crawl in bed, put on my favorite show and just lay there for some me time.

I usually de-stress on the drive home. Any residual damage from the day can usually be gotten rid of by just closing my eyes and not having any distraction for a little while.
