Why did I suddenly get a high fever?

On Saturday morning I developed chills and body ache followed by intense fever. My heart was skipping beats fast during the fever. I also felt naseaous. This was going on the whole day till night got a bit better as i tried to cool myself off. Yesterday I recovered but still has some warmness and headaches. Today I'm completely better. What I don't understand is what on earth happened? Was if flu, covid? What else?

Nature still has viruses and bacteria out there... not just coronavirus/COVID-19. Every few years, I get a virus that last 24 hours. Sounds like that's what you got.

Can't be. I wasn't dehydrated. I drink a lot of water throughout the day daily

Some mild viruses only last 24 hours. Mild as in they don’t last long, they can still kick your butt though

But covid usually has more symptoms and lasts too. I also had omicron twice before, no fever so it can't be that.
