Going through period products?

I use a variety of period products. I went to work so my tampon was in use for around 5-6 hours before changing throughout the day. On the first day of my period when I use a super tampon after 5-6 hours I was starting to feel some moisture and when I went to change it the string was already having blood. Would you say this is normal or is this getting too heavy. Usually my periods are not really heavy and are mostly over in 3 days. On lighter days I don’t have to use many period products. Would you recommend to go up a size even to super plus on first day? With a regular size I was going through it after several hours which is why I went up to super size for the first day.

That being said, you do know that if you’re menstrating you do not need to be on break to handle your personal business such as changing out your blood sponge.

Yes I should be free to change my menstrual products without the powers that be complaining that I’m slacking off etc. unfortunately I get nervous even leaving for a bit because it gets busy and worried about management thinking I’m being irresponsible or something. In some places they even have period leave which I wish I had.
