For me I found the newborn stage easy despite the lack of sleep. My baby is now 2 months old and most times I am crying because I don't know what it is wrong with my baby or what she is needing. I will feed her, burp her, change her nappy, play and talk to her but she still cries. There are times I am going 2 to 3 days without being able to shower because the very moment I put my baby down she will cry and scream the house down. I tried taking her in the bathroom with me while I was showering and not even 5 minutes later, all i heard was this blood curling scream. Nothing happened to her, even though I was in the shower I was watching her the entire time and talking to her. She hates being swaddled, if I even attempt to swaddle her she gets angry and cries. She refuses to sleep in her cot. She has hated the cot from the moment she was born, even the midwives at the hospital tried and tried to get her to sleep in the cot and she wouldn't, so they gave up trying and just let her sleep in the bed with me, even though I really wanted her to sleep in the cot. There are times I am not even able to eat at all that day because as soon as I start eating she at times wants to eat or she again will scream out crying
When we are out of the house and out and about for the day, she is like an angel. She will sleep in her pram, she doesn't really cry at all. At home she is a completely different baby and I have asked and even begged for help and I am getting absolutely nowhere. I even called the hospital once asking for advice because at one point she wasn't really eating and she wasn't really peeing either so I was concerned she might be dehydrated but the midwife I spoke to on the phone told me to call back later. Despite people knowing I am struggling those same people are there telling me I need to eat and sleep and I'm like how do I eat and sleep when my baby doesn't settle at all especially at night time. She doesn't even like the white noise sound.
