First im going to tell you my story. Depresion is a big mess... I have been in there... well Im stilk recovering from it but Im positive about it and I think Im doing ok :)
What is working for me? Well its not one thing... its my entire life... you have something that you must ask you and its what you dont really like about your life and most important, about you.
I had a bad time because I didn't leave my home... I was all the day inside... no friends, no girlfriend, no goals in life... I was just going forward in time... I was all the day in college but alone and when i was out of there I just wanted to go home and play and talk to online friends... a sad life, I liked my online friends but well... we are phisical entities at the end... we need to socialize, we need to evolve and become better... well I kinda did it, first I started looking for activities to not being inside of my fu***** house, I wasn't fat but i wasn't healthy so I wanted to do sports and get fit, well... I did it... first I went to the gym and started working out, I learnt to cook, not cook like shit, healthy cooking. I discover an app to play tenis and padel with strangers and it was fun! (Playtomic). I started taking care of myself and enjoying a little bit my life...
Well a new semester began and I thought that was the best oportunity to change my social skills! I had to be in other class so I would know new people. So I changed how I was, I was like in a type of drunk behaviour all the time like I dont give a f about what people think and I wanted to know new people! Well... it worked! People liked how I was! Maybe I was forcing myself but I liked that so much! It was just to force me to talk to people and not fear what they would think! I made some friends and it revitaliced my entire life!
Well After this making some friends and most important, know a lot of people, I fell in love with a girl who was in the class... it didn't worked out lol, she wasn't interested in me but this was so awesome! I mean, some time ago I didn't knew people and know I was looking for a relationship? Wtf? It was sad and frustrating but i was still positive about everything. And well here I am...
I have told you my last 7 months, I started in January and now I feel so much better about me!
Sometimes I have breakdowns and all that things because of remorseful thing of not doing this earlier in my life but im so proud of myself!
I oversimplified everything but I think I told the important things.
Ok miss, now is your turn, I have told you how I changed but how you must aproach this change? What things you must do? Well there is not a guideline but like I said at the begining you must be honest with yourself and ask yourself why are you feeling like that. Whats that thing that is making you depresed? Maybe you dont feel you are living a good life? If thats how you feel then lets start with some tips i will say.
Like I said in my story sometimes a change in mind must start with a change in your rutine, and if the rutine is healthy then its better! Start doing exercise and sports! I really recommend you hitting the gym because at the end, you see results and its so satisfactory... and also you get a hot body too!! All benefits lol.
Also I recommend some sports, what i did was padel and tenis but maybe you like swimming or volley, there are teams and alk that stuff where you can join! And if its more a individual sport like I did I really recommend apps like the one i said , Playtomic. There you can meet people too :)
I tried to be all the day out of my house, there is no benefit in being in there, you will feel alone and sad, even with online friends, so I started studing in libraries instead of my room. Also I tried to small talk at least one time per day staying outside with a random person!
Other tip! Im kinda religious so i wanted to volunteer and help other people! Even if you are not religious volunteering is for anybody and it feels so good to help other people... also you can know a lot of people there and at least in my country there are a lot of young people doing it so it might be a good oportunity to know more people!
Well my change of classroom helped me a lot as you can see but maybe it can't work on you so there are some things I want to discuss. Will you go to a course? Start a degree or something? It can be a start! And if you are already in a class its not over! You can talk with your partners and if you change they will feel atracted to you, i mean in the friendship way! You have to turn into the girl you would be comfortable talking! How? Forcing yourself, its not easy and sometimes I just wanted to be quiet but at the end you see the benefits! YOU HAVE TO TURN IN YOUR BEST VERSION!!! Do you have hobbies? Videogames? Series? Films? Books? All of that can do a small talk and from there to any conver with people!
I know I know... its not easy, its very hard from a start but you have to be open and overall S M I L E. Very important, thats something so atractkve that you dont even know, being with someone smiley is so so amazing... I really like people like that and the people around you will like it too!!!
Now I have to do a pause and is to say that ok i know we are talking about making friends but to remind you the importance of the smile and the behaviour I must tell you that that one girl who I fell in love with made me fell because a dumb joke and her smile, she wasn't the most beautiful girl there, she was very average, but that was enought... when i was talking with people in class I didn't mind about her until she talked me and did that and from then I only had eyes to her... this is just to show you the importance of this things!
And well... like last tip is to say you that you must be the best in what you do. Are you studing? Be the best! Or at least try it! Be pasionate about it! Do you work? Dont be negative about it, try to see thing positive and it will make you just better not just to your mind health but also make other people feel your energy and feel better around you. At the end you have to be pasionate about things...
I know there can be a lot of things more you can do... but rightnow I should study instead of doing a 1500 words article lol but if you want you can talk with me if you want to know more thing about how to work in this and how to improve. At the end thats why In here, to help others and to have help in some things in my life.
The first thing you must to think is if you want to change. From there you just have to do things like the ones i told you and Kt will be fine, I promise :)
Good luck! And if you need help with this I will try tk help you in what you need.14 Reply

Invite people with kids over and play with their kids as their older sister or aunt. Sew scarves and donate them to seniors at old folks homes. Do a volunteer day at a food bank once a week. Create a play list of happy songs with no negativity and listen to it every morning and night.

Okay I'm going to be honest with you I know nothing about it but I can also tell you this the best time to do something is when you don't want to do it when you have no motivation I'll bet you a dollar right now in 30 days I can have you feeling better than you've ever felt in the last past 4 years I'll combined all the good days you've had in 30 days let's make the bet
I'll even do it with you that's how bad I want to win a dollar
First thing you set a time in the morning when you get up no matter what you have to get up at that time you have to go in and take a shower comb your hair brush your teeth
Eat breakfast and then you're going to go for a walk 30 minutes a day for 30 days you're going to walk 30 minutes a day for 30 days if you walk in a fast pace that's even better I doubt you need to be toned up but that will tone every inch of your body it'll clear your head breathe into your nose and out your mouth for 30 minutes as you walk
First day write down everything you like about yourself
Then write everything that you dislike about yourself and you have to be honest with both
I don't know if you have a job so I'm stuck for a moment
Ok moment is over
If you have a job pack a lunch
Something that you can scarf down
Right after or right before you walk for 15 minutes at a fast pace
If you don't have a job make a playlist of music or I'll give you 10 to 15 songs that will motivate you
Now this is where I'm going to f*** myself but just because I said that doesn't mean you have to believe it because I'm not going to f*** myself you're going to use me as an excuse and that's b******* I want you to understand something you're more powerful than a human being because you're more than human we all are
Have you ever listened to a song it just made you get goosebumps made you feel alive our song that made you feel unhappy and sad but gave you Goosebumps because it meant something to you
Well those Goosebumps are going to be the thing that saves your life because when you get those Goosebumps that is your heart and your mind communicating together that is when they are one and that is when you are the most powerful you are like a radio station you put out a frequency we all do when you're around certain people you feel good it's because you can feel their frequency you can feel their energy you're not depressed well I take that back I guess you are but what it is is you have low low frequency in your side your body you need to pick it up you need to make it glow
The first thing you need to do is get oxygen to your brain and your heart your muscles you need to bring them back alive for 4 years they're dormant I would be depressed too and listen I'm not here to give you a hard time I'm here to help you even though I might sound like a jackass doesn't mean that I'm trying to be one but music vibration tone sound is the most powerful thing in this world it'll make you come alive
Your brain your heart your blood vessels your whole body on the inside probably feels like you've been eating concrete it's
Like there's a rope tied around you and you're pulling all this heavy weight well you are it'll all go away as soon as you get oxygen into your system into all your organs
Have you ever done sports or been really good at something and when you're on the money that day and everything is going good you know that high that you get light is a feather that's when your energy that's when your frequency is just peaking and that's when good things happen to you for you you got to be able to find that again see and I can tell you right now your questions already helped me because sometimes you forget about this stuff and you get caught up in the world that you're in right now and I needed to hear myself say all this so I'm going to stop talking right now you tell me if you want to do it or not tell me if you want to commit to it I will commit 30 days to you to help you become the person you want to become help you become the person you're looking for the person you want to become you know it's in there you know she's in there that's the reason why you ask this question this is the reason why I'm answering it okay the ball's in your court tell me what you want to do I'll commit to you I'll do it with you
You have a phone I have a phone you up for 30 minutes today I walk for 30 minutes a day I'll text you call you you text me or call me prove to me that you're walking 30 minutes a day I will prove it to you that I'm walking 30 minutes a day but when you answer this question you tell me yes or no and then I will have a hundred things for you to do LOL not really a hundred but you know what I mean give me 30 days I'll give you 30 days of A whole New world but it's up to you36 Reply
Asker+1 ywhat you wrote is great What about my mistakes? I'm alone because of slander? how do i fix them
- +1 y
Well I guess that's what your doing for that mistake. Paying for it
Or maybe learning how to control that side of you. Or keep it simple apologize in 30 seconds or less and let it go. At the same time we probably shouldn't do that but there could have been some truth to it too so you're not all at fault. Like they say you have to pick your battles and some things are just not worth battling over you have to look at everything and if you do battle no hitting below the belt and just be 100% honest because truth hurts and don't get out of control keep all that power within you
Okay I'm going to send this right now but did I miss something because I thought this question was about something else - +1 y
Okay have you read it what you need to do is just find yourself first forget about this lander forget about the mistakes you made if you want to apologize but make it very to the point and done with right now is the time for you to find yourself nothing else you can fix all your mistakes and all that somewhere down the road you'll run into the person and take a brief second to apologize and just leave it just apologize quickly and leave it nothing more you need to build your strength you need to build your character you need to find yourself and who you want to be the question was about you and you're worried about somebody else you can't do that not right now so do we got a bet a dollar bet or dollar deal whatever it was
Asker+1 yOh English is not my native language, i couldn't understand u well

+1 yYou don’t.
You just live with it.
I have depression since I was four years old.
I say four years old, because that was my earliest attempt. Of course, when talking about trying to do something because of a severe depression, it is obviously making cotton candy. Because I don’t remember the exact terms and service. I’m talking about making cotton candy.
So anyways, yeah, I tried making cotton candy when I was four years old and failed miserably and then up until my late teenage years. I was trying to make cotton candy not regularly but anytime I did it was like really serious cotton candy making like I was the Leonardo da Vinci of cotton candy making. There were times when I tried to make art out of my cotton candy.
Anyways, depression isn’t something you just get rid of unless it’s like trauma depression. Because you got depression that just exists because your brain is just messed up and then you have depression that is caused by trauma.
Depression caused by trauma, only exist, as long as you are traumatized. You get over your trauma you get over your depression. As long as you don’t try to make cotton candy before then.
I’m going to guess since you said you’ve had it for four years I think that it’s probably just trauma depression and in that case you just need a therapy.
My home burned down when I was 17 and I had to watch my mother get turned into KFC. Yes, the house was on fire and so was my mom and I could see my mom on fire, but I could do nothing to save her.
I got over the trauma through jokes and exposure therapy. My exposure therapy involved me buying a zippo lighter and just constantly playing with it. Of course, I couldn’t just have one in my hand and not light it I mean I was lighting it and unloading it all the time and anytime I could I was just playing with the fire. For a while it was scary but eventually I was getting used to it and now I am no longer afraid of fire. There were other parts to my exposure therapy but I’m not gonna go over them point is I played with fire to get over my fear of fire.
So yeah, if it’s trauma induced depression, there’s hope for you to become normal. Otherwise you’ll just have to be happy and miserable and if you can’t manage that then you’ll just have to be miserable because if you try making cotton candy people will just make you even more miserable.
It’s kind of ironic but if you try making cotton candy, peoples natural response is to do things that restrict your freedom and make you want to make cotton candy even more.
Anyways, life is torture, and self-awareness is even more torture.02 Reply- +1 y
Sure why not.
Asker+1 ySo can i fix
I didn't have it myself, but a friend of mine and I dove quite deep into this and other psychological topics, because everyone struggles at least once with really bad times and problems.
First of all, depression is multilayered and there is no simple fix (pills are for a minority of people suitable, as they fix what else you can't or help bringe the time so they don't kill themself. But before you decide to take them, better try the other methods, if you still have the mental strength to do them for a period of time.)
There are a ton of big to small things that matter and can affect mental health.
First of all, is your life in order? Do you have a trauma that needs attention, do you have close friends, maybe a partner, do you spend your time productive with work or studying, do you have any kind of responsibility like taking care of someone or something?
Further what affects us a lot is that we eat healthy food, get sun light regularly, do sport/exercise and have routines. Sport for an example should get your heart rate up, which is also one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself and it is a natural antidepressant.
Is depends from where you start, but it helps nonstheless to formulate goals and break them down to tiny steps you take every day and build up a routine and walk to something good.
There are greate videos on YouTube: E. G. from Jordan B Peterson about Depression.
I think if you learn what you fight against, it only helps to win.
Anyway I hope you the best of strengh and I was of any help, stay strong.01 Reply

+1 yLike everything in life some things take time & as for depression it isn’t easy to deal with & you are not alone. For starters turn your frown upside down & after you do that talk to someone or a few people & open up & let them know what’s going on. As for you start setting goals so you have something amazing to work towards & challenge yourself to succeed at those goals. Start working out, hit the gym, hit some local parks or trails & go on new adventures. Change your life style a little.
In life if you never try you will never know & when it comes to life remember the following. Never Give Up, Never Give In & Keep Moving Forward No Matter What.00 Reply - 473 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yLook at your life objectively and view what's good/bad factors in it. I do not mean just obvious shit either, but unhealthy habits you have as well. Improve them and look at what you need to do. This is your choice.
By saying it's "your choice", I don't mean you magically all of sudden being like "I'm no longer depressed." It is you having that internal switch when your brain that just gets sick of it. It's the same one addicts get before getting help. I hope the best for you genuinely and that your life improves. My mother was domestically abused too very badly and she was broke as well. It took her time, but she got out of it. She's now one of the strongest people I know and has done very well for herself. I know you two are different people, but stating an example of a story where it worked out.00 Reply - 370 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic.
+1 yStart with the basics.
Take care of yourself.
Eat a healthy, clean diet. Get plenty of rest. Exercise and get into great shape and exercise regularly. Don't drink alcohol or do drugs, don't eat junk or sweets except as an occasional treat. Spend plenty of time with friends or family, those you trust and who respect you and whose time you enjoy. Get organized... your home, bills, your life.
Once you have the basics kind of settled... if you still feel depressed all the time then seek a therapist or doctor.

+1 yYou got to learn how to control your emotions. To do that is to stop taking an offense in just the general day to day purpose.
If people let you down. Then that's because they can't control their emotions and take everything in general as an offense.
Example you missed the public transit bus. Instead of getting moody and offensive. Just wait for another public transit bus. Another example if the shopping line checkout is busy. Then be patient and smile until the busy line dies out. Hope that answers your question 😊00 Reply
+1 yI could tell you to do all those things but that wouldn't help you. I was there too. Attempted suicide and was so depressed, I cried and cried every single day.
But the only thing that changed something was time. I still have depressive episodes but it's not all the time anymore. After a certain point in life you will just feel apathy. Then you will find something you love to do and have a few moments where life is enjoyable. If you have someone you trust talk to them or see a counselor.
If you have other symptoms then get checked... in my case it the cause was ADHD and now I'm taking meds and they help me so much.
I hope you find happiness and that you stay and bless this world for a long time.
Hugs to you. I know depression can be a b*tch. 🩷11 Reply

4.9K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Sometimes depression can be caused by being out of the loop of control of your life. I tried to figure out what was making me depressed and I made a plan to try and fix it. Even the act of working towards that goal started to help. It sort of worked I think and then Covid happened and everything got screwed up again.

+1 yGet into nature. It’s a beautiful world out there. Eat healthy. The brain is just chemicals. A lot of how we feel has to do with what we put into our bodies. Get on some kind of exercise plan, even it’s just going for a walk. Maybe make some changes, try getting a new job or a different place to live. And most importantly, stay hydrated and limit mind altering substances like caffeine and alcohol. You have to believe in yourself, believe that you can pull your way out of this.

You are all alone in this world the world only cares about you if you have something to offer so take care of yourself above anyone else
Everyone else will try to use you be there for you only when you got something to offer I mean you can't even tell someone the truth without getting someone mad or hating on you take care of yourself

There’s a whole ass world out there. Why give up without at least trying a change of scenery? You can’t control other people or solve their problems. At some point you need to do what’s best for you and just make a change. A new job, a new city, new religion, etc. Life doesn’t get any easier, especially with the hand our generations have been dealt but it gets easier to manage. I was extremely depressed from high school all the way through my late 20’s. Always had suicide as a backup plan, but I’m still here. I may or may not have chickened out once or twice. You two can manage as well and you’ll be twice as strong for it.

Multitude of reasons of which I've explained too many times; it's simply the easiest solution
- +1 y
I wouldn’t say it’s the easiest. When it comes down to it, it’s hard. That’s what a lot of people who say people who kill themselves are cowards don’t get. It’s definitely a solution. But I think it’s an answer for a question unasked. You only have one life and there aren’t any do-overs. Your lineage survived plagues, wars, famines, and millennia. I think you owe your ancestors the ol’ college try at the least.
