I think they are born that way. Some people are just born as a rotten seed.

I think it's mostly environmental, but abusers can, and often do, pass on a genetic predisposition t be abusers. Hence why dog and other animal breeders tend to cull mean animals rather than continue their bloodline.

I think they can be born (just like someone's genetics can cause anger management issues) and I think they can be made (just like how poor treatment of women could be facilitated by demonstration in youth).

I don't think abusers simply are one or the other, I think depending on certain factors an abuser could be made by both.

I think it's a combination. They may be born to be more willing to be abusive, and when the opportunity presents itself, they act on that.

Abusers I believe not 100% sure, are hypocrites. They were abused, hated it, and then end up being the abuser. It's a weird mental illness.
