I am an organ donor. Yes. I have considered at least donating my brain to science. I have bipolar disorder and l am currently managing my symptoms with meds. If l can somehow help others, l am all for it. I am unsure of the process but l most likely can go online and find the necessary paperwork.

Funny you should ask. The actor Jerry Orbach that portrayed Lenny Briscoe from Law & Order was an organ donor. I read that some fortunate soul out in the world is now walking around with Lenny’s eyes. Think about that next time you binge watch those episodes.

My wife donated her body to a group to be used for training doctors in training. They were able to use various parts for training many procedures. After, the cremated her body, put the cremains in a plastic bag which was then placed in a very nice box and returned to me. All the expenses of picking up the body and cremating it were covered by the organization. She was a nurse and continued helping in medicine by this donation, as well as saving us the cost of cremation, which is expensive.

Where I live, it's not so easy to do. After you die, your family still has to agree to allow your body to be donated (even if it's in your will).

In any case, no. I will not donate my body for research, but I would be an organ donor to save a life.

My body will do me no good once I'm dead, so I might as well put it to good use. I see no reason to waste money on a funeral and all involved in that. I've already signed up with Medcure. They pick up the body, do the research, cremate the remains and send them to your next of kin, all at no cost.

My brother donated his body while he was alive. He had cancer. He let the doctors use experimental drugs on him so others after him could be treated and survive. When they discovered his cancer it was in Stage 4. Nothing they could do. It was to far advanced. Now most of people who contract or get that type of cancer, they survive.

Every adult here is automatically a organ donator by law, there is an opt out system that you must do if you want to not be so. Most people want to be or don't care so it makes more sense for people who are worried about to opt out rather needing people to sign up.

If it's for a lab that's working on bettering the medical field, I'd do it. I don't have any family or friends to come to my funeral when the time comes anyway, so might as well make some use out of my body! The world has gotten so complicated though by politicians wanting to control everything, so who knows where my body would end up!

Yes, In fact there is a body farm several hours north of where I live. It’s used for criminal science investigations. After looking into it I decided it was not worth it.. they would not take care of my shell of body if I died and was not within 100 miles of an airport and if I lived in a certain area for transport. I would make things worse for whoever takes care of my shell….

Yes, my only concern is, if they think I'm dead, and I'm not... Same thing goes for optopsies. The last thing I wanna do is wake up to someone sawing into my skull, or wake up with my ribcage wide open, organs all exposed.
