People are not getting the jest of the question. Organ donation is quite a difference from donating your body to your state's anatomical society to be used by med students. In order to donate your body to science, you the owner of your body must sign a form while living that expresses your interests. I personally looked into dumping my asshole father-in-law to said program. The med students work on the bodies for months and months on end and when they are done they ask you if you want your loved one back. If not they will be mass cremated and buried all the ashes together in a mass grave. I have a rare connective tissue disease and I
have thought about being donated to the Plastination or Bodies exhibit that travels the world.

I've designated myself as an Organ Donor... the remaining vestigial carcass to be cremated and used as foresting fertilizer ash to be mixed with my spouse's ashes. Friends can visit my 'grave' thinking of me, each time they walk through the woods.

'Composting' is giving back to Nature who'd nurtured me. <3

I wouldn’t mind it it seemed like a good cause. I’m at the very least an organ donor. I don’t know why anyone would be against at least donate their insides. You won’t need any of it anymore. lol

I have thought about that, because I believe I have something very special that science could use to develop medically. Not only my body could save lots of lives as I am quite healthy but some body parts of mine could be used to learn about the human genes, mutations, health and so on.

Considering the fact that everytime I go to a doctor, the whole hospital comes to see my eyes, they call doctors, they call students and they teach them how special and rare my eyes are. That it is something they have never seen. I am used to that. So I can imagine I would benefit the science in some way.

I am a very rare person genetically speaking and science could learn a lot from me. But I do know, I want to spread my genes first.

And then probably I am too selfish and arrogant to make my body into an experiment.

They don’t need to learn, they can be impressed in future as well. I know I have made lots of people impressed.

I have thoughts about it, but then I also imagine that someone would have sex with my body during the process. I don't know how often Necrophilia happens but I doubt anyone would do that and admit to it. They also wouldn't do it while others are around either and likely rarely gets caught.

I haven't decided if I care enough or not... but probably not, is more my leaning simply because of beliefs and traditions on both sides of the family.

I did until I read up on instances of doctors allowing patients to die die to being organ donors.

And a particularly gruesome case where the person was declared dead, they began cutting him open and he woke up….

As long as I'm really dead, never able to regain any feelings or consciousness, and completely beyond saving. And as long as I died in a normal way and wasn't killed just for the purpose of such research. Then have at it for all I care. I'm a registered organ donor.

Absolutely yes. I hate the idea of my body undergoing some religious funeral rites. So I'd do anything to ensure nobody gets to do that to me after I die.
This body goes to science and not an ounce towards religion.
