How common is it for ears to produce excess wax?

From what I've observed, this only happens if there is something threatening the ear canal. For example excess noise or even some of the sounds we cannot hear that are different frequencies. Once I got rid of the source, the ears became normal. Ear wax is made as a defense mechanism to protect the ear from some kind of threat!

Its certainly quite common , its a defense mechanism.

Its pretty common if you use ear buds a lot it will build up and get impacted

Well I develope heaps of earwax very quickly people with small ear canal likely have more issues but it's quite common but is very annoying
