@exitseven
Thank you for including me and asking me a question. I thought you forgot about me 😔.
Ok on with your question, I don't work out anymore. I have turned into a couch potato 🛋️🥔.
But since I am a Mom and you aren't feeling well 🤧😩🤒🤕😷🤫 you did the best thing by resting your body so it can heal. Keep your eye on your throat especially. Sore throats can be an indicator of something like strep throat, Lemierr's Syndrome (which you don't want to get, but it does happen).
Plus the fact that you will be spreading your germs to other people at the gym. That's not fair to them right?
Ok, get well, rest, chicken soup 🥣🧃🍬🍵
@exitseven
When I lived in the snowy cold 🥶 South and I had the flu or cold but HAD to go to work, the best thing that helped me get through the day is drug store, grocery store Thera Flu. I like the lemon one that you open one of the packets inside the box, and mix the contents in a cup of hot water. The trick is to keep stirring it up otherwise the medicine will sink to the bottom of the cup.
I used to give this to my coworkers and they raved about it. Please try it ok?
Get well YOU!
Definitely not. The body needs time and rest to recover! Pushing yourself to work out while sick only delays your recovery, and has the potential to make permanent damage. Plus if you’re going to a gym, you’re spreading bugs to other people for no reason, just stay home and rest.

I definitely don't. You need to rest, take medicine, and eat lots of soup, crackers, and drink lemon water to be healthy again. If you don't, your body will remind you itself that it must rest and such. Which could lead you to collapsing depending on how sick you really are.
I ditched the wheelchair I used the first week post surgery, I am walking on crutches a lot, going up and downstairs just to practice, do some ankle and leg exercises necessary for me and
waiting to go to the doctor to find out what else I can do and when I can start the physical therapy, I HATE to be less active than before.
So, yes, I am trying to stay as active as possible. My housekeeper has nothing to do, she just cooks, as I am pretty active and independent myself.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. There have been studies that show it can help to get you through the illness more quickly if you get your heart rate up for a bit. But, you also don’t want to deplete your body of the energy it needs to fight whatever bug you have. I’d say to know your limits.
Not usually, even if it's a minor cold the sickness drains my energy. I have a hot epson salt bath, drink lots of hot tea. Basically burnout the cold. I rest and take it easy. Your body is smart and when you get sick that's a warning sign to slow down and take a rest.
Usually yes, though at home doing bodyweight exercises, gentle Wim Hof Method breathing and plyometrics. The idea is minimal strain for getting the blood moving and oxygenated.
Acknowledged.
Sore throat and achy sounds feverish. I hope you feel better X7❤
I don't go to the gym anymore, but if I had those symptoms I would skip the workout and rest my body.
Awe, I'm sorry X7. That's no fun at all. I hope you take it easy and drink lots of fluids. Maybe you'll feel much better by tomorrow.
I've worked out for almost my entire life. Not a good idea to do it if you have an infection, not even a cold. It inhibits your immune system and slows your recovery. Rest up, take a break and come back even stronger. It's also good to take a break now and them and take a week off to let your body heal if you lift. Lifting tears down muscles and when they build back they become stronger. A good rest once in a while improves your overall health and you'll get more from your workouts. But never workout when you are sick.
To be real with you bruah... lifting will speed that shit up and get it over with.
For instance... my wife and I both got COVID-19 shots. I hit the weights and was drinking beers like 2 hours afterwards. Her... bro... she might as well have got the COVID-19 with how sick she got. Should of just lifted wights like me and be done with that shit.
The heroic coomers view muscles the same way as electric motors that only know, energy -> work + heat.
But we know that muscles are living organs, no less than the fuckin pancreas or the brain, or the adipose tissue that increases aromatase activity... muscles are chemical factories of their own, and secrete these myokines... it isn't just about fatness and strength. Just search up something like "irisin" and think again about shutting down public gyms in the name of covid control.
@Tapeworm I'm glad you pointed out both my strengths and weaknesses in logic. Glad to see you back in the game Tapeworm... Admins really went hard at you earlier. Those fucking assholes. Anyways yes... the muscles played their part in my opinion.
I'll tell anotrvrlth related story. Since I've bought like 50 pounds of supplement powders from china, I've been excreting tapeworms regularly. When I take a break from all supplements, and then take pyrantel and praziquantel together, prescribed, no worms come out. Weeks later when I take a high dose of my own combination of supplements... in 12 hours it comes out. Every time. Over 20 times total.
Although the lab coat data promotes the use of these drugs... in my experience they're inferior to natural supplements. I wish it wasn't true...
For me, it depends on the severity of the illness or my condition. The first time I got Covid, I was knocked out for two days and couldn't keep food down, definitely did not exercise. Often times I'm able to work through allergies or a slight cold. Getting out into the sunshine and fresh air generally helps. I won't work out indoors if I'm not feeling well. The intensity of the work out is always low if I'm sick.
That would be stupid.
If you're working out your goal should be able to beat or match your last performance. Not barely limp through before death!
If I have a cold, yes, but only because I'm stubborn and because my mood suffers without workouts, you never should though.
No. I can't stand how weak I feel when I'm sick. Attempting to work out while sick just makes me hyper aware of that feeling.
You should still do light exercises. But don't overexert yourself. Take it easy.
I don't. I try to give my body what it needs.
If I'm sick, I let my body do its magic by resting.
The fever kicks in to kill the bacteria with temperature. I rest to give my body all the energy it's got.
I’d just wanna be in bed forever and be taken care of Lol
I might go for a short run, or do a lighter workout at the gym when it's less crowded.
if it is just a cold, yes... I just get to work and go on with my days
For the most part I will, as the only times I will not is if I have a very bad headache or if I am nauseous. If it is just a cold, then no, since I have worked out various times before having stayed up 30+ hours and that was fine.
Depends on what it is. If it is a headache or light cold, I still go since taking medicine suppresses it long enough to help me get through it. Otherwise if I am having attic and basement issues, I ain't doing shit.
Pun intended?
Oh no. I prefer to rest as much as I can that way my body has enough resources to fight the sickness.
Depends how sick I am, something light and not intrusive,” yea I’ll workout l. But if my head is throbbing or I’m affected by the illness, I’ll just rest
yeah, that usually is the best remedy for a cold or any common sickness. unless you are dying sick, that's something else
When sick I usually skip lifting and just jog or walk until I sweat for 20 minutes.
Yes of course.. your body needs rest.. so I kind of make it a rest day which in turn kind of tempts me to make it a cheat day but naah
No, it can lower your immune system and keep you sick longer. Your body needs all of its resources to fight whatever sickness is going on.
There is only one answer to this: yes. anything else is wrong
It depends how sick but I feel it’s ok to sweat it out
No it's supposed to make you even more sick as you are wasting energy and making your body work harder no?
Hell no. My boyfriend does tho. I have to ask him to get some rest 🤦♀️
No. I let my body rest and recuperate.
No, just stay home.
No I lie in my bed hahahaha
No. Rest is only cure
Nope I focus on getting better.
I go to bed
Not even when I'm healthy.
Nope☝️
No, I rest my body.
DEPENDS ON HOW SICK
I usually focus more on getting well.
No, it won't help to workout if your sick.
No..
Not me.
Nopeeeee
