Here are some tips for starting your baby on solids like fruits and veggies without worrying about choking:
- Start with single ingredients instead of mixed foods. That way if there's any reaction you'll know what caused it.
- Avoid hard or round foods like grapes, carrots, raw apples until baby is older. Stick to soft, mushy foods at first.
- Bananas, avocado, sweet potatoes are great early options. Mash or puree them smooth.
- Always supervise mealtimes and go slowly. Give one tiny spoonful at a time and wait to see if they want more.
- Practice the pinch test - if you can mush it between your fingers, it's soft enough. Otherwise cook or steam veggies before blending.
- Start in a high chair to contain any mess. Make it fun by doing airplane noises with the spoon.
- Stay with purees at first even if they grab for whole foods themselves. Let them touch and explore but you still feed.
- As they get better at swallowing you can move to bits of softer foods like melon or peeled peach slices.
- Don't give up if they refuse - try different foods and be patient. It helps them get used to new tastes and textures.

Thank you🥺
My pleasure 😊
Start with blended fruits and veggies first. One at a time without mixing. Itll help you little one and you know what they like or don’t like. Once they have teeth, you can introduce soft foods like baby puffs and overcooked potatoes that they can hold with their hand. As the week progress, you can bring on cooked veggies. Play everything by eye.
