I belong to a country where there are vast varieties of vegetable dishes not only salads so I love them. If my child isn't eating veggies then I will cut the vegetables in appetizing way like my mom did (for example cutting carrot in butterfly shape).

By dint of simple volume, it takes WAY more poison to kill an adult than a child. Most naturally occurring poisons are bitter; so are most vegetables. Kids, naturally, don't wan tot be poisoned, so they avoid eating them. If you want a kid to eat them, you'd probably do well to either start with some sweeter veggies or just a good sauce of some kind.
