I end up in the same position every time
Here are a few possible reasons why you may not be winning tournaments even though you've recently started training:
- Experience matters - Even with years of playing, tournaments are a different level of competition. Your opponents likely have more tournament experience than you and know how to handle the pressure. It will take time to gain that experience.
- Physical peak - Training or not, you may not yet be at your physical prime for your sport. Continue working hard and your game should improve as your body develops more.
- Mental game - Tournaments are as much mental as physical. Your opponents may be better at staying focused under pressure or shaking off mistakes. Work on your mindset.
- Need more specific training - General playing experience may not be enough. Focus your new training on skills, drills and strategies specifically for tournaments. Film your games too to analyze where you can improve.
- Peaking at the wrong time - It takes time to see results from training. You may not be match fit yet. Stick with it and focus on gradual progress over time.
Don't get discouraged, homie! Training is a long game. Keep grinding, learn from each experience, and your day will come. Success is a journey, so just enjoy the process of getting better each time. You got this!
