Heroin isn’t spelled with 2 e’s, that’s what distinguishes it from the heroine in fiction. As for which is more addicting, it depends on which numbers you’re looking at.


Undoubtedly methamphetamines brings in a higher overdose toll that easily doubles that of specifically non-prescription opioids such as heroin, but there are a lot more people addicted to heroin than meth. This most likely has to do with ease of access to the drug and how likely the addict was to get involved with a gateway drug such as prescription opioids like oxycontin and fentanyl. When people experience a good high, most likely with prescribed medication first, they’re likely to stick to it and keep it going. Meth is a psychostimulant, meaning it causes hallucinations as it effects the body, opioids are a gateway into this too but the difference is the effects of the high itself, meaning their most favorite encounter that led to going with meth over heroin likely had to do with a mixing of opioids and something else to create that unique experience. For most others who didn’t mix drugs, heroin is the result of those who start with prescription opioids and stay with them for as long as they can until the doctor cuts them off.
