Do hospitals use any painkillers for labor?

And if they don't why not? I don't think they do cause then they wouldn't feel the pain right? But there's always pain during labor, at least last time I heard of it there was, maybe now they use morphine and shit but I don't believe they do, I think labor is still the same as its been for centuries, if the baby is coming out already, the baby won't be in the mother long enough for the painkiller drugs to do any harm right? morphine kicks in within seconds, if they start pushing then the baby shouldn't get effected by it right 🙃

You can get epidurals and stuff. For some they’re awesome in taking away the pain (but they increase the risk of birthing injuries and emergency c-sectiond). They don’t always work though and either way you’ll be in pain until you get the epidural which can take a long time before a doctor who can give them are available. For some they don’t have time to get them as it’s already too late to get it whenever anesthesiologist is available. Morphine doesn’t do shit for labor. At least it didn’t for me. They gave it to me because nothing else was working but it didn’t work either. I got an epidural during labor with my first kid and it helped for like 2 hours and then it stopped working.

Yes they do use drugs during labor. It can make the baby sleep afterwards but it's no big deal. I've had fentanyl during 2 of my births but it barely works cuz the pain is so intense. It's best to get a epidural but those also have drugs in them and can cause issues/don't always work. With my last birth I was feeling all my contractions even with the epidural and drugs

No woman I know of can tell me giving birth is painless, pain is as a subjective experience anyway, it's impossible to compare it against anyone, we can only compare our pain to a previous one personally felt, internally.

Epidural is certainly a plus, but it can fail, or it can be not enough dosed, or it can be contraindicated even. In these cases, you know what happens: SCREAM ! And rather intense ones !

They will give the expectant mother an epidural if she requests it which deadensvthe nerves in the pelvic area while the labor is happening and for when the baby is born.

Most women have the option to get c-section… I don’t know much about that regarding pain killer.

i opted for natural… no pain killer and no epidural… pure natural for both kids. I prefer this way.

I had a relative who used epidural (a big needle injected from the spine) she got an infection from it… I heard that too can be painful (the injection)

so why go through all that and still feel pain… so I just gave birth naturally… you know the scream and stuff!!

Not at all… it’s part of nature. I dont know why people mess with nature. Women have been giving birth naturally for thousands of years… I get some die from… but now they are abusing the drugs. 🤦‍♀️
