    Google AI says.

On a ketogenic diet, many people see changes within a few weeks, with initial changes often occurring within 2-4 weeks. These initial changes may include a reduction in water weight, which can happen very quickly as the body uses glycogen stores. True fat loss and more significant metabolic improvements may take several weeks to months.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Initial changes (first few days to a week):
You may experience initial weight loss, primarily water weight, as your body depletes its glycogen stores. This shift to burning fat for fuel, also known as ketosis, typically takes less than a week.
    Visible changes (2-4 weeks):
Many people start seeing noticeable changes, such as a shift in energy levels or a reduction in appetite.
True fat loss (several weeks to months):
Significant fat loss and improved metabolic markers, like insulin sensitivity, can take several weeks to months.
    Full keto-adaptation:
Your body fully adapting to using fat as its primary fuel during physical activity may take a few weeks or even months.
    Factors Influencing Timeline:
    Individual metabolism:
. Opens in new tabEveryone's body responds differently to dietary changes, and factors like age, activity level, and current health status can influence how quickly you see results.
    Diet adherence:
. Opens in new tabConsistently following the ketogenic diet, including strict carb restrictions, is crucial for achieving and maintaining ketosis.
    Exercise:
. Opens in new tabIncorporating exercise can help accelerate fat loss and improve metabolic markers.
    Intermittent fasting:
. Opens in new tabCombining intermittent fasting with a ketogenic diet can potentially help you reach ketosis faster.
Important Note: The first few days or weeks on keto may be challenging due to the "keto flu," which involves symptoms like fatigue, nausea, and headache as your body adjusts to burning fat for fuel. Staying hydrated and monitoring your ketone levels can help manage these symptoms.

If you weigh yourself frequently, you should begin to see some weight loss within 4-5 days, though the loss may not be obvious to others until you have lost maybe 10 lbs. That might take 2-3 weeks.

I have done a lot of reading and watching excerpts from doctors who are in the trenches investigating this diet. I have heard two views, one for and the other against.

What I have found is that for most it will work well, but there are others who need to take a different approach to this diet. It normally takes on average 30 days for your body to reach Ketogenics (the state at which your body begins to burn the fat and help you lose). Once you start losing, you have either the path of continual Keto diet or an intermittent Keto Diet. For those who have other health issues you will more than likely use the intermittent diet, where you will 30 days on keto and either 30 or 60 days off Keto, but still retain a healthy diet by doing the Mediterranean during the non-keto period.

The rest of us can continue doing Keto indefinitely, and slowly add other things back into our diet; if we come across something that give us an issue; then we keep it out of our diet. Keto will help you to regulate and keep blood sugar at a manageable level.

Enjoy, but always make sure to be careful and a reputable doctor to check you, in order to make sure your health is good. Not all doctors will be on your side, and they will give you tainted information to get you to not do keto.

Honestly if you do it properly with no cheating pretty much immediately , I live the Keto lifestyle and have for some years.

First month of absolute zero processed carbs , mixed with intermittent fasting and increased general. exercise is the way to go.

I took it for a couple months and started seeing some changes after only a month or so. Then, I ran out of pills and re-gained everything I lost.

I never did it, but I did intermittent fasting... from 6pm to 12pm the next day. I would have a protein shake, fruits low on carbs... cardio 5 days a week for an hour and a half. I lost 70 pounds in 4 months.

I started to see a change within a couple of days in terms of energy levels and about 3 weeks in terms of loss of body fat.
