Why is alcohol consumption at an all time low?

Maybe due the more gambling situation? More people are gambling than ever and it's becoming easier. You don't need to drink if spending money on that and using your addictive personality on that?
People don't become less prone to addictions they just move them somewhere else.

Strange to hear that I as a Mexican (Mexicans) drink a lot. I have been drinking every day for like more than a decade till today either at parties or at home. But honestly I think I'm reaching a point where I kinda want to reduce it a bit it doesn't really satisfy me anymore. I'll buy less and buy some niquil, take a few cups of it with the drinks.

Probably because people don't socialize as much as they once did. Plus, it is too expensive for many people.

@DryGermanGuy If you listen to doctors smoking is a health risk. Well we listened, so we quit smoking. Then they said alcohol is a health risk so we cut down on alcohol. Now they say cholesterol is a health risk so I quit listening to doctors.
