743 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. No. I never had an alcohol problem.
I drink alcohol maybe 6 or 8 times a year. But I do enjoy the taste of a good wine or cocktail on occasion when my wife and I go out to dinner or when we go to a party. We even go to wine tastings once in a great while.
I drink like a connoisseur. I enjoy good quality red wines. I also like good quality brandy, dessert wines, various liqueurs, and mixed drinks with rum, gin or tequila. Sometimes I'll have a porter or stout at a pub, or a Modelo Negra with spicy Mexican food, or a Sapporo with Japanese food.
Alcohol is also an excellent ingredient in certain foods.
So I see no reason to swear off alcohol. I drink for the flavor, not to get drunk. Although the occasional light buzz can be pleasant at times as long as I'm not driving.10 Reply

2 moI mean kinda. I just had a baby and you can't drink during the pregnancy. The thing is I rarely drank before that. So I didn't even think about drinking. My lovely husband drinks a bit more then me, but he gave up drinking to show "solidarity" with me. He's not much of a drinker either. He just drinks socially, but his dad is an alcoholic so he's always been worried he'd become one too. So he will give up alcohol every now and then to make sure he doesn't have a problem. This was a great excuse to do one for 9 months.

2 moNever had to give it up. I do it so seldom, maybe a social drink once every few years for some occasion.
10 Reply 367 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I haven’t given up per say , but I no longer drink like I use to , for awhile I was a Friday and Saturday drinker , after a week of work I enjoyed having some craft beers and relaxing or when I go out with friends and socialize but now , I barely drink , land can go weeks without it. But if I do drink I only have a few and stop myself

2 moNo, I haven't and probably never will. I'm not a big drinker but I do over indulge myself every couple months. To be honest, I come from a family of alcoholics. They functioned fine and are/were successful but did pretty much get drunk just about every night. I didn't wanna go down that path, so I do feel I've succeeded in being a casual drinker.
Does that sound like a justification for me drinking? Lol

u 2 moI have never been a heavy drinker. I don't drink if I am driving, or I will have one mixed drink if I will have at least an hour afterward before I drive. I occasionally have a shot of Scotch at home, or a rum and coke. . . and of course wine at communion on Sundays.
10 Reply In my younger days there was about 12 of us and we were always at the clubs they let us in we didn't have any IDs but we are at the clubs drinking we are always at the lake drinking or at the races drinking but there does come a point where you just don't like waking up feeling like that anymore LOL

2 moI drank a while when I turned 21. I got bored with it because I couldn't get roaring drunk without puking. I just gave up on it. I haven't drank since. I think the use of intoxicants is just a dumb idea now. You're not going to have fun You're going to hurt yourself inside. Your nerves or your brain of something.
10 Reply4.9K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Yes, I became unemployed about 20 years ago and to save money I stopped drinking. I was unemployed while I finished grad school. It was aboiut year and when I went back to work I decided not to drink anymore.
I would like to say tht everything that was screwed up about my life was suddenly better but that was not the case. However the packie that I used to buy beer at went out of business. Coincidence?
10 Reply675 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I love the taste of whiskey and rum too much. Pizza, burgers, and tacos are best with a beer. 3 people who I’ve known for 30 years or more have drank themselves to death in the past year and a half, one just last week. That makes me think about it but I have probably only been drunk about 5 times in the last 5 years, and 3 of those years were spent working at a bar.

2 moI almost exclusively drink when going out to dinner and it's only one or two. I don't feel the need to give it up because I do it so infrequently.
20 ReplyNo. I rarely drink anyway, so there's no reason to give it up as long as I stay within my limits

2 moI would only drink a couple times a year (Christmas and New Years) and even then, it was just a couple. My life has changed the last year, so, I think I probably won't even drink then.

2 moMultiple times, but this time feels different. I’m having no cravings. That’s new.
The main problem now is that bars were my primary source of socialization.10 ReplyI only have alcohol on social occasions, like wine during a nice dinner at the restaurant. And only a small amount, as I'm usually the one driving my family home.

10 ReplyYes I have and recently… I don’t see it as something good for me and what I want for my future self.
20 Reply388 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I'm still 20 so it is not even legal for me yet. But it is available at parties in my college etc. It is not something I have to have in my life but I don't mind the taste of a beer at a party or a glass of wine for dinner if I'm with family.

2 mowhy decided to stop. unless you felt sick? you can decide "not to buy it today" but why decided never?
12 Reply Mostly, yes. My metabolism is too high for me to drink much, because I tend to be useless afterwards, unless I'm going to sleep.
10 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I'll have a pint at a gig. Outside of that, I don't drink.
Well, I'll have the odd cider in the 3 days of actual summer England gets.
