Sickness from the cold weather...How do you relieve the pain?

For those who do have sickness from cold weather, mostly being sore and feeling like crap as soon as the temperature drops low, how do you relieve the pain?

Hard to say. Where are you experiencing soreness? If you are feeling joint stiffness in your extremities then you probably just need to bundle up more when you go out into the cold. If you feel generally ill when it is cold then there might be an underlying temperature regulation problem going on and you might need to see a doctor. If neither is the case this might be a psychological effect and you might not be affected by the cold but by something else which correlates with a drop in temperature. If this last scenario is true then you need to begin recording your feelings and pains at various intervals throughout your days so that you can look back at your recordings at a later date and potentially isolate a common theme shared by the points at which you feel your worst. That might help you figure out the problem and a solution.

sickness from cold weather... you mean a typical cold? Lemme guess, sore throat, stuffed nose, headache?

If so, sore throat= honey. mmm :) Make tea, mix honey into water. It subdue the effects, the you just wait it out.

Feeling like crap? This is not the time for a perfect diet. If your stomach feels queasy or if you have a fever, eat warm soup. If not, eat a LOT. Your body needs extra energy NOW. It'll help with that crappy feeling :)

As for the headache, got any peppermint candy, scents, anything? If it's a sinus headache, it'll help.

phenylephrine, ibuprofen, advil cold and sinus (awesome), robutussin, any anti-cough med! any anti pain med. colds you treat symptomatically... they have to run their course.

I think you are talking about getting ill from being too cold, not an actual cold. Try getting more sunlight, stay warm, drink warm water/tea, exercise...?

Take the cold pill or painkiller and you will feel better.

But you won't get better!

Cold sickness is incurable by any medications, they just relieve symptoms, they relieve pain as you asked but they don't cure it!

The best way how to deal with cold is prevention!
